Did anyone ever send those as a gift?  OR a honey baked ham or something like that?  I need some gift ideas and food is always good!  But, i don't want to pay a premium for food that isn't really very good.

Omaha is great quality but over priced. There are always deals though. Everything comes frozen so if the recipient doesn't want to cook it right away they are all set to just put in the freezer.

Love Omaha Steaks.

In general, food gifts are great. I personally love the fruit. Edible arrangements being my FAVORITE.

Steaks and hams are good. If you want something different and less expensive, Wolfermans is good. The have English muffins, scones, etc.

Omaha has been around forever.

They have to be good.

I have sent edible arrangements a lot!  Pricey, but the quality is unbeatable.

Omaha Steaks are awesome.

DS knows one of the owners and has gotten free steaks from him. They really are as good as they say they are. The price is worth it IMHO.

The reason DS knows one of the owners is that the guy blew a front tire on his big Cadillac. DS stopped to help him and I swear, the guy gave DS a whole box of free steaks.

Whenever the owner sees DS, he gives him some more.

Hmm, maybe DS should look that guy up again. ;)

They also flash freeze fish fillets.  They do a great job with the fish.  I really liked having that in the freezer but the thing is, I need it lesser quantities.

Burger's Smokehouse is really good. It's pricy, but really good. A company I used to work gave us a ham from there around Christmas.

There was a great special on Omaha Steaks. Sent it to my mother.

I always send a honey baked ham if there is a death. Make sandwiches, a dinner. Everyone loves it!

Honey baked hams are the bomb. Love them.

Omaha steaks are good, but I prefer bigger, better cuts of beef from Costco or BJ's. However, we have given and received Omaha steaks over the years and it's always appreciated. I love their stuffed flounder.

DH sends H&D to his family every year. They are very good, too. I have received Edible Arrangements and it's very good, too.

Another good one is Sherrie's Berries. Chocolate covered strawberries to die for.

Cheryl's cookies is really good too. And I don't think the price is crazy.

I've never had mail-order beef before. I like to look at beef before I buy it, so I can see if the color is right, see the marbling of the fat, etc. I'm not knocking anyone that has bought some though, just saying that I don't think I could bring myself to do it.
