we got freezing rain overnight, but it's just rain now. Temp is up to 35 and on its way to nearly 50. Which is good, because I've got stuff to do. Off to feed the dog and then I need to run into the post office

I almost started this and was going to call it Slushy Saturday. We got about an inch of snow, followed by freezing rain/sleet. It is only 32 out there so still very yucky. Glad I have no plans to go out anywhere.
I have one small essay to finish up for school and then I am done until January 2nd.
I need to get this house back in order. The garage is almost ready to be able to park a car in there if we get bad weather. The floors need mopping which has not been done in two months. Walls need wiping down too. I wish I could convice DH to let me hire someone to do the deep clean this place needs. We also need to declutter the basement but that won't happen until the Spring.
Good note, Mom sent us a Christmas check. Now I can get the kitchen chairs re-upholstered. The table and chairs are original 50s chrome and the chairs desparately need to be redone.

We had a set like that growing up. Ours was a white with green speckles, the chairs were green.

We are at the days high of -2, it will only get worse as the day goes on. More snow fell during the night, so the roads are still awful. I'm not sticking my nose out the door today. Brrr. I'm dreading tonight. High winds and a real feel of -18, wind chill will be dreadful.
Hope to finish making Christmas cookies today. Going to have to force my body to move, I want to curl up with a big quilt and watch movies.

It still looks cold, gray, damp and dreary out there. Butternut squash soup is done. Pumpkins are roasting. Seeds are waiting to be cooked next. Still need to figure out a plan for the spaghetti squash. It's a small one.

I had such high hopes for today. I was up early. I got my errands done. And I was going to come home and clean. Instead I sat down for just a couple minutes.....2 hours later I'm still on the couch. Sigh.

That's a tough call. I tend to lean toward watching it at home. I don't really like crowds and at 5' tall I end up having to watch most of it on the jumbo-tron. So, why pay all that money for tickets and food and wait in line for the bathroom when I end up watching it on TV anyways?
