Good morning!

So we met with the guy about our wedding venue yesterday, and he just happened to know that a wedding planner was right next door so he went and got her and she was sooo helpful! She went over tons of stuff I hadn't even thought of! I'm pretty excited about that.

Otherwise my trip is going great, except I've been woken up early every day which I hate! Vacation should be about sleeping in!

Oy, I feel for you Geeks who are waiting for the snow.

Cloudy and 65 here. Heading for a high of 77.

I think I'm going to take down the outside lights, and work on raking some leaves.

It's going to be cooler tomorrow. Only in the 50's.

I might as well get some yard work done, while it's warm.

Have a great day, everyone!smile

Oh ouch! I always get blisters when I rake!

I'll use my leaf blower as much as possible.

Maybe I'll escape the dreaded blisters!biggrin

Enjoying nice weather today. Hopefully into the weekend as well.

We get to prepare for the deep freeze next week. Ugh

I slept in this morning as well. Slow day here for once. Probably won't last to long though. ;)

Stay safe all you northeasterners!

FWM, try not to over use that leaf blower. ;)

Boring slow day at work, working from home today. Next year I am taking this whole week off. Too slow, it is like watching paint dry!
No snow for us so far, just rain.

Taking DD and a friend to the movies soon. I will be dropping them off. First time they get to go without an adult and they are excited. The theatre is near several stores I like so I will amuse myself for a couple of hours.

Back to reality today. DH had three days off and we spent it with my family at their house. Such a relaxing weekend!

My parents got me a full-sized crock pot for Christmas and it came with a mini-crock pot. I can't wait to use it! DH got his World Series Cubs hat. He's VERY happy!

My grandma sent us home with a bunch of leftovers. I'm going to take the meat off the turkey carcass and use the carcass to make broth then turn that into turkey noodle soup. I have turkey pot pie planned for some of the meat. She got a bone-in ham too, which she sent with us, so I'm going to take the meat off the bone and portion it out for future meals then use the bone to make 15 bean soup and use some of the meat in it.

DS' birthday was yesterday. He is officially 3. I can't believe I have a 3 year old. Seems like just yesterday he was born. We took him to Krazy Air then to Chili's for dinner. He turned on the shy act when they sang Happy Birthday to him. He said he had a good birthday when we were driving home. I love how talkative he is now and that he will say what he thinks. He's quite the threenager though. His attitude is almost bigger than he is!

I tried using a ham bone once.

The thing came apart in my beans and we were picking tiny pieces of bone out of our bowls.

It was gross.

It's nice enough to have the doors open.

The air is clean and refreshing.

Love it.

Yes. I had cooked the ham myself.

Oh my gosh, I'm so tired!

I manned the leaf blower, for the most part.

And Mere and Paul bagged 20 bags of leaves.

The shame is, they are still coming down. We'll have another 10 or 15 bags to do in a few weeks.cry

And that's just the backyard.

We didn't have it in us to tackle the front, or side yards.cry

Oh well, it's a start! Right?

On the bright side, no blisters! Yay!biggrin

(I really should have put on some shorts. It was 80 degrees, and I worked up a sweat.)

Goofy weather!

Here is my vent for the day: my boss sends me all kinds of stuff to print out and leave for him. Most of it is not a problem, its PDFs of contracts or reports. But he'll also send me spreadsheets and want them printed. These spreadsheets are not built to be printed. They are just the background data for the charts he gets, 50+ columns and hundreds of rows of numbers. So it's nearly impossible to print them in a legible. orderly fashion. The other day, every other page was blank because of whatever formatting it had. I had to sort through over 300 pages and put more than half of them in the scrap paper pile.

Took pooch for a walk just now. Rainy and cold. And rivers running down the roads because the rain is melting the snow. Under the snow and water, though, is ice. I'm glad I sucked it up and bought the Hunters. Just about bailed twice. Had to pick up Pooch once on the walk because his feet got too wet and cold.

So. Much. Shopping.

Ended up getting some amazing deals. DD figured out that the reg price of her haul was over $600 and she paid around $165. Not bad at all.

Still eating the leftovers...almost through the majority of them.

FWM & Trudy ~

To avoid blisters when using the rake or snow shovel, wear
COTTON gloves. They act as a buffer between your skin and
the hard handle.

Momala,,

Using a snow shovel isn't much of an issue, in North Texas. (As you knowwink)

Wearing gloves ,while raking leaves, just makes you sweat!

I was already sweating like crazy. It was 80 degrees.

No gloves, for me. wink

And, on the bright side, I was manning the leaf blower.

I appreciate your thoughtfulness, none the less.smile

Grrrrr! DD's flight is delayed and now she will probably miss her connecting flight. Even if she makes her flight her luggage probably won't.

Hope your dd makes her connecting flight. I know how frustrating that is. Just got done taking down all my Christmas decorations. Now I don't have to worry about getting them down this weekend and my cleaning lady will be here Friday to clean.
