With the fights over the last few days, malls are enacting curfews for those under 18.

Our mall has done this for years.

No one in the mall under 18 without an adult.

It's pretty much stopped shoplifting, vandalism, and fights.

Not a clue what the rules are at our malls. I rarely set foot in one, only if I absolutely have to.

I don't know, we are about 30 minutes from some pretty big malls and ours have stayed opened.

Even after the theater moved.

I think that for each kid caught their parents should have to pay a huge fine.

I think that kids wandering the mall getting into fights and vandalizing have parents who don't care too much. I think the kid also bears some responsibility - a ticket with demerits? Too many demerits = legal action?

Our malls have the adult supervision rules on Fridays and Saturdays after 4:00 pm.

Honestly, I couldn't say. I haven't been in an enclosed mall in at least 10 years. But sadly I think too many parents look at malls as a place to dump the kids and let other people deal with them.

What do they do when the parents aren't supervising?  (e.g. parents sitting with their phones while kids are running wild or being little a**holes?

(mostly because this is what drives me nuts at the dog park.  Most owners stick to the main play area and interact with their dogs, or at least watch closely.  Then there are the owners who are a million miles away on their phones while their un-socialized dog harasses other dogs)

It isn't fair that a few groups of Ferrell teens ruin it for other teenagers who just want to shop. I remember my mom or a friends mom dropping my friends and I off at the mall. We felt so grown up and enjoyed some independence.

We liked the mall in cooler weather.

Get something to eat, shop a little, see a movie.

But we LOVED cruising.

In the late 80s, if you needed to find any of the teens or young adults, we were in a 4 block area in down town.

But a few that couldn't pick up their trash and had to cause trouble ruined for everyone.
