Goodbye 2016! Don't let the door hit ya on the way out!

We got back from our Williamsburg trip yesterday. For the most part, it as a really fun trip! (Except for the day we drove to Jamestown and Yorktown and #1 complained the whole time). Bush Gardens was spectacular! I don't think I've ever seen so many beautiful lights and Christmas decorations. Truly magical!

Today I will wash clothes and start taking the decorations down. Tonight we'll go to dinner at the Thai restaurant we've been NYE'ing at for the last 11 years, come home and drink champagne, then go to bed.

May clean the fridge and pantry today, meanwhile I'm watching the twilight zone marathon.

  I knew I was missing  something 

I'm going to have to get dressed. I have to meet the HOA president to go talk to a homeowner about their fallen gutter that they haven't fixed. It has been like that for 3 weeks.

Sponge bath for me today (you know what I mean). If I touch the hair it won't go up tonight!

I will be in my jammies all day & I'm unapologetic about. I have no plans to leave the house & see no reason to get dressed.

Well, I'm showered and my hair is washed. After it dries a little, I am going to go to the grocery store. Say a prayer for me. Then oh....I don't know...maybe watch a little football????? ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!

 I tried to get through the old ones too.  Got so syrupy sweet and predictable I had to run away.  Will probably watch the reunion set though.

 What game?

DH is out being a "go-for" for our new tenants who are in
the process of moving in. Sheetrock, joint compound, trim,
window caulking, etc. There are 8 pick-ups surrounding
the house, and I can hear all sorts of power tools. We may
have to replace the refrigerator - the previous tenant was an
absolute pig. Holes in the wall, broken windows, stained
carpeting, disgusting bathrooms. I'm glad the new tenants
were able to see beyond the mess, which I wasn't able to
do anything about because the rent was paid up through
today.

I got up at 5:30, did a little housework, then decided I
could use a nap. 5 hours later, I think I can face the
world. Going to make hors d'oeuvres for later tonight.
We have a perfect view for the fireworks that a local
church is going fire off at 10:00.

I made bean soup with a ham bone in the crock pot overnight. Delish! The meat slid off the bone super easy. I diced the meat up and tossed it back in with the beans.

DH, surprisingly, said it tasted like chili. He hates beans in his chili so I'm really surprised he made the connection. Personally, I like beans in chili because they make the chili heartier. I don't think it tastes like chili at all but DH likes it so he can call it chili. I don't care.

 Come on over! Got a crock pot full of 'em.

I love this crock pot. My parents got it for me for Christmas. It's programmable and goes to 'warm' mode once the cooking time ends. Love it!

 But he has two TV's and stacked. He can watch the game, you can watch the Gilmore Girls, and then just text each other all night.

 When I was a kid, sneakers were always white, we would scuff them up, run through dirt, before we dared to wear them to school.  They were much cooler in the non new condition.

I remember that book! I read it when I was starting. I danced from age 4-8 with the Royal Canadian School of Ballet, but it's been a while. Doing drop in classes now!
