A lot of couples like to have professional photographs taken when they get engaged but these couples have taken their shoots a little too far.

This cringeworthy collection, compiled by Awkward Family Photos, shows couples sharing an upside down kiss, a steamy embrace in a toilet and a naked photoshoot. 

The pictures, which have been shared over 67,000 times on social media, have gone viral - but probably not for the reasons that the couples intended. 

This couple wanted not one but two photographs for their engagement and decided to be pictured watching themselves kiss while up against a tree

Engagements might be common but there is something unique about each of these professional photographs. 

A lot of them show off a little more than they should - with one man appearing topless and another couple completely nude in each others' arms. 

Others decided to be photographs peeping out from behind a wall while one couple attempted to re-create the upside down kiss made famous in the Spiderman films.  

They might be hidden from the family photo album but they'll live on forever online.
