For all his failures, he is still the first black president.
That is historic.
But I don't know if I will for sure.
You know, he really wasted a great opportunity.
He could have done so much to improve race relations.
Sad he is leaving things 1000 times worse than when he started.

Nope. Yeah, it's historic but i have looked at him for 8 yrs. Clarence Thomas is historic, so was Condi Rice. They only care when it's a Dem. Of course he is the POTUS that is the highest office in the land. No doubt he will have a lot of schools, buildings, highways, etc named after him. I wouldn't be suprised if they put him on our currency.
Did anyone ever watch the TV series "Minority Report"? There was a scene with someone getting some kind of big cash payoff, and they used $500 bills with Obama as the Presidential portrait for the bill.

Because I grew up watching every presidential speech.
Because, although he was a horrible president, he was still president.
Because of the historic significants of him being the first black president.
Just because I don't like what he has done, doesn't negate the fact that he is still my president.
I'm not going to berate the left for their behavior towards the incoming president and then act the same way to the outgoing president.

I didn't "act the same way" towards Obama. I didn't go out and burn things down and protest. And the night he got elected, i truly hoped he was going to be the man everyone wished that he was. Well, he wasn't. And, i am glad you are so forgiving of a man who wants to ram abortions down the throats of Catholics and hand billions to terrorists and slap Israel.

Hubby is one step away from Black Belt. A 3 year journey that has been long and hard but very rewarding. Every year when they have a graduating black belt class, they choose one person in the class to receive the honors award along with a katana. I told him that if he wins it, I will do karate. It is very possible that he will win it.
I am starting to get scared. (LOL!) I dont take exercise very well.
I studied Kenpo for a bit when I was still in Cali. Only gave it up to study for the bar then I ended up moving to WV, and couldn't find someone out there who taught it. I'll admit, I didn't look too hard. I was spoiled, studying under Grandmaster Donnie Williams.
The boys are taking taekwondo now and it makes me want to get back into it. And I hate exercise. But the thought of being able to defend myself outweighs that.
Congrats to your husband, cherrios! That is quite a milestone!

The only reason HE got into it was because he was the one to take the kiddo to class, and he figured as long as he was there, he might as well join in too.
