I liked it when she wore the coat. The coat, with the neckline, made the outfit, IMO. And the gloves. I've always loved long gloves. I thought she should worn different shoes, however. Maybe a pair in gold or silver. Something metallic. I'm not a fan of pastel pumps.

I'm not sure what is so difficult about holding a gift. It's not like she handed her a pet snake. Could she not have held it for the picture? And O going on about protocol and how they'll get used to it. Bleh. I hope they enjoy Palm Springs so much they don't return.

That was very thoughtful of Melania to bring her a gift. My take is that Michelle was startled by being given a gift and had no experience to graciously accept it.

You know what? I recognize the Melania comes from a lifestyle that commands great style, certainly not one that Michelle came from. For that I do not put Michelle down. And I truly think Melainia came with a gift and not expecting anything in return. It was simply a nice gesture and Michelle shouldn't be shamed for an awkward acceptance.

Melania's dress was lovely, but she looked very uncomfortable and unhappy the whole day.

I think that Melania was seriously overwhelmed. Coming from a life of privilege certainly does not make one ready for the pomp and circumstance that comes with your first day as the First Lady.

I do think that Michelle had a funny look on her face, but it might have just been a timing thing. And it didn't look like there was anyone to hand it off to. There were no attendants for that. It makes sense that it would be a fumble trying to find someone to take it so that everything else could continue. The other option would have been to put it on the ground, which would have been very inappropriate.

I'm not sure why she couldn't hold it. But whatever, it doesn't matter now. I did not know Melania came from a life of privilege. I was of the understanding that she was self-made.

It was pretty lace.

The belt, kind of ruined it. I think it would have looked nicer, without it.

I didn't like the belt either. Frankly, I thought she looked underdressed. That looked like something I would wear to work, not to an important state event.
