Am I the only one, who thought Mrs. Obama's dress, would have looked much better, without the skinny belt?
It was pretty lace.
The belt, kind of ruined it. I think it would have looked nicer, without it.
JMHO.
I didn't like the belt either. Frankly, I thought she looked underdressed. That looked like something I would wear to work, not to an important state event.
I thought it was a lace overlay.
I guess I was wrong.
I still think it would have been more flattering, without the belt.
I think that Melania was seriously overwhelmed. Coming from a life of privilege certainly does not make one ready for the pomp and circumstance that comes with your first day as the First Lady.
I do think that Michelle had a funny look on her face, but it might have just been a timing thing. And it didn't look like there was anyone to hand it off to. There were no attendants for that. It makes sense that it would be a fumble trying to find someone to take it so that everything else could continue. The other option would have been to put it on the ground, which would have been very inappropriate.
I don't think she grew up in a life of privelage, she is pretty much self made with her modeling. I think the issue is she has never had to face so much hate and was uncomfortable with that. She will grow into it. She is simply elegant, no denying that.

Michelle is not terribly overweight. She's not thin, but she's not fat. She's what used to be considered average, although average now is probably larger. She is quite tall, taller than we imagined. But next to Melania, she looked clumsy, like a bull in a china shop. But who wouldn't.
