Flan, I am sorry. I've been there and know how much it sucks. And as cliched as it is, it might turn out to be for the best. It doesn't feel that way now, but it will. The last time I got fired, I was devastated. I was totally blindsided and really liked my job. But it turned out that was the best thing that could have happened. It allowed me to escape Indiana when I needed to without worrying about my employment. And I ended up at a much better job I love.
Are you planning to look for another job? Or retire with your husband.
(Wayne got let go in September, after 38 years with the same company. The joke is on them. Wayne got hired by a competitor a few weeks later. Revenge is going to be sweet!)
(Thank God Wayne found something. He's no good at staying home. He was driving me crazy! I was gonna have to kill him, if he hadn't found something! LOL!)

Exactly HOW would you have killed him?
You two are the primo example of a happy marriage!
I was blindsided because a week earlier I had a sit down with the VP of sales where he told me my sales were too low, but they weren't worried about that. Told me I was a valuable member of the team for so many other reasons and I was important to the company's growth plan. And a week later, I get canned.

I hadn't actually gotten to the "planning stages", flan.
But, wringing his neck, with my bare hands, crossed my mind a couple of times!
Now that he's out of my hair, we are happy little campers again.
Welcome back flan🌷 I'm so sorry that you were let go. I know that you really enjoyed working with the children. Have you thought about finding a job in a school library?
If we all become unemployed, can we rent a house together? We should do it in Canada - the cost of living is much cheaper when the CDN is $0.76 to the USD.....
I have been fired before as well. It sucks. It sucks the big wanker! It also spun me into a spiral of depression. I certainly hope you are able to gather yourself and truck on girl. I dont wish that on ANYone!
Glad to see you are back, Fran. Sorry to hear about the firing... Hope you find something soon and that you will enjoy it (plus getting a decent wage).
I was only fired once and did not know it until I applied for unemployment. I had submitted a letter of resignation that was accepted but my employer told the Unemployment Office I had been fired.... Really burned me up but nothing I could do about it..... At that time, if a person was fired they had to wait longer to collect benefits.....
No ... I haven't been let go. Just a major cut in hours. Like, an entire paycheck sized hours cut. Starting around the end of March. So I have a little time to find something else.
I was fired once. Unemployed for 4 days. And I was offered a better job. The funny thing is, the employer who fired me did so to protect the jobs of two people he liked, told Mgt I forgot to lock the gate when I left. I hadn't no way to prove it though. A job that used the same main frame computer (this was a long time ago) appeared in the paper the very next day, I was given an interview immediately. The person doing the hiring asked why I no longer worked there and I said "well don't want to say anything negative about my former employer" and his response was everyone of the people I worked for had applied for the position. He hired me on the spot. The two people former employer wanted to protect ended up going on the lam for embezzling from that employer. Such Karma! I made more money, much nicer company.

Wow, flan, sorry that happened to you.
Welcome back!
On my phone, so hard to post.
But, I was part of a reduction in staff once. Our whole department was let go. I went back to school and make a lot more money.
Hope you are able to find something soon.
