you know, it's ironic. It was Hillary who wrote the legislation to build a better wall and Bill funded it. O defunded it about six years ago. The executive order was really just about funding.

Walls make good neighbors. When we no longer have conflict with Mexico and the people from South America that come through Mexico, then we can talk trade. That is what Trump is doing. It is so different from what we are used to our leaders doing, but I do believe it will work for us and Mexico.

Yes we realize that tariffs are taxes passed on to the consumer. However if it makes those product's prices noncompetitive then other sources will be found.

Trump is going to go hard on Trade. And, i believe prices will spike as a result. However, you can either take a longer view and understand that it will be make our country stronger to compete fairly, that business with come back and people will have jobs and businesses can thrive again. And, that in the long run, prices will come down and wages will go up. Or, we can all act like whiny babies when there is a little pain. I predict the latter of course by the libtards. They don't want jobs, they want govt checks without work.

Yep, and I don't mind paying higher prices, but what goods are we talking about? limes? Mangos? I see it more as an inconvenience. Trump is taking a hard line and what this does is send a strong message to Mexico that they have cost us enough and we are stopping the drain on our resources.

Not my point. He said Mexico would pay for the wall through tariffs on their goods. He didn't understand that those are paid by the consumer. They had to walk back their position hours later after it was announced.

Parts for all kinds of things are manufactured overseas.

Cars, vacuums, computers, clothes, shoes.

That's one reason Trump put into the pipeline deals that parts be made in America.

But I'm good with the increase if it gets our economy growing again.

I heard the more you wear them, the quicker you'll get used to them. I have transitional ones, and I still get dizzy when I try to walk. I have an eye appt. Tuesday. I'm going to ask about contacts. I haven't tried them in over 20 years so hoping I might be able to use them now.

Funny thing is that all these executive orders have parts of them that have to pass congress and the courts. The courts have already struck down the current chaos that is being caused in the US. Chaos and effectiveness are two very different things.

No the court did not strike it down, what they said was a small portion of it was unconstitutional the part where those US residents with visas and green cards shouldn't have to go through a more stringent security procedure when re entering the US.

I am not addressing the bigot comments but the differences between the two as I see it are:

Obama applied the ban to refugees from one country because of a specific threat of terrorist found in the US from that country.

If I am reading it correctly Trump has suspended the processing of visas for refugees for all countries for 120 days. Also an indefinite stop for Syria.

Obama required visas for people that visited or had dual citizenship of the 7 countries of concern. Trump has placed a 90 day ban on those countries.

I've been checking the White House website where executive orders are posted as well as all statements, and I have yet to see where he has banned muslims. He did make a statement on FB that he wants to help Christian Syrians, because they are refugees. And he said on FB that people coming in from the 7 countries will be detained temporarily until they can be vetted. Extreme vetting I believe is his wording. But he has not issued any new laws, this was a law that O made several years ago, and T is just enforcing it again. He did not chose the countries, O did.

Yes, I've been reading the executive orders themselves. So far, he has relied on laws already in place. Unlike Obama, he hasn't attempted to MAKE law through executive orders, but simply to enforce it.
