Bon jour!

J'espère que tu as une belle journèe!

Aaron has his french pop playing

I feel like I'm trying to cram for a test.

Anyway, guess it could be worse.

So what's everyone up to today?

Good morning!

Let's see, pay some bills. Work in the yard...maybe. Take Jessi to work.

And, I'm not sure what else.

Have a great day, everyone!wink

Nice easy day in the new position. A couple of reports to run and a bit of research for some customers but that should take all of an hour. What will I do with the other 7 hours? Happy Hump Day!

You can do it!  Kick that soda to the curb.

Soda's main ingredient is high fructose corn syrup, made from modified corn.  Do you know what they do to corn to modify it?  The inject bacteria and viruses in it to kill bugs.  Basically, you are drinking frontline.

Or, if you are drinking diet soda - you are drinking chemically made poisons.

Does that help?

Gotta figure out a dessert to bring to the collation
after a funeral Saturday morning. Has to travel
well, and hold from preparation on Friday. Anyone
have any suggestions?

Puppy dog toes.  Easy, snacky dessert.  I took them Sunday to the church luncheon, they all got eaten.

Easiest EVER - Mini pretzels, Rolos, Pecan halves.

Put the mini pretzels on a cookie sheet (use parchment paper to line it - trust me).  Put a Rolo on top of each one.  Put it in the oven on about 275 for a few minutes to soften the Rolos, top with a pecan half and press down to smoosh.  Let set for the chocolate to harden back up.

DD doesn't like pecans, so we also make a version with the little square pretzels, and just put another pretzel on top and squish.  We call those sassy squares.

I make the same thing for neighbor treats at Christmas time.

To make them more fun and colorful, I top them with an almond M&M, instead of a pecan.

They are a big hit. My neighbors look forward to getting them every year.smile

Fudge, brownies, cookies, or cake. Lemon bars. Cheesecake. Pie.

Hmmm. I want a dessert now.

I'm not really looking to kick it completely. But I want to move it into the treat catagory. About a year ago, I did really well. I went from drinking 3-4 cans of soda a day to 1-2 a week. I'm at maybe 1-2 a day now. Not as bad as I was, but not as good as I want to be.

I didn't drink cokes/sodas for almost 18 months.

Drove myself and everyone else crazy.

They taste just as good as ever.

It was easier to give up cigarettes, liquor, and sex.

I wonder if telling DH that would help him kick the habit. He wants to but his willpower is almost zero.

I very rarely drink soda and when I drink it, it's to cut the grease (pizza, for example) in what I'm eating so I don't suffer too badly after my meal. I crave a Coke once in a great while. DH gets jealous that I can make a 12 pack of Coke last for months.

I will occasionally drink a Mexican coke. They are made with pure cane sugar. They are more expensive, but in big glass bottles.

I ordered a diet coke in one of those snooty vegetarian granola restaurants where everyone has dreads and I got 'aspartame-shamed'.  "um, well, um, we don't really carry anything with ... um ... aspartame ....".

Good golly, aspartame needs to be banned! Hate that stuff.

Good afternoon all!

Today is the first day I've been home since last Thursday.

My house looks like I've been gone too. :(

Today, I don't care what the house looks like. I'm tired.

Meetings scheduled for tomorrow. It's going to be a l o n g day.

When can I retire!!

Okay, whine over.

Who has a super bowl party scheduled?

We have already decided we are not watching the halftime show and Budweiser beer will no longer be purchased.

I think we are becoming militant. lol

It is simply the absolute worst thing you can eat or drink.  It's linked to a ridiculous amount of health problems, including cancer.

Their commercial is set in a foreign country and disparages Trump on immigration.

Budweiser is owned by a company in Belgium, I believe.

IMHO, the Super Bowl is not for politics.

They claim it is not about politics, but their history. Timing is quite suspicious. I want more puppies and horses!

That's weird that a superbowl commercial would get that political. What about the pretty horses and cute puppies?

They previewed this commercial on The Today Show this morning.

And they did say it was about the history of the Bush family, coming to America.

They also said it was shot over a year ago.

So, while I can understand why some folks are going to take it as a slam against Trump...I don't think they would be so stupid as to make half of their potential customers mad.

I'll take it at face value.

(I'm a Blue Moon drinker, anyway!biggrin)

I have never watched a superbowl game or anything that related to it.

I understand that others enjoy it.

I, however, intend to binge something on Netflix.

Most likely at home. It's a Sunday evening and I'll have to work the next day. I don't want to drive home at midnight nor do I want to have to miss the end of the game.
