I have never counted calories or used one of those apps. I feel that if I did, I would be eating a LOT more calories than you all!! Lol.
Eating such low calorie amounts isn't good for you either. It throws your body into starvation mode and you end up gaining weight.
The average woman should be eating 2000 calories a day to maintain weight or 1500 calories to lose a pound of weight a week. Eating less than that causes weight gain. -- from my BIL who is a registered dietician and nutritionist with both a bachelors and a masters degree in nutrition.
2000 calories a day is VERY easy. My breakfast was easily 600 calories, and I had a small bagel sandwich and a drink. Yogurt snack was 140. Coffee was about 50 calories w/ cream and sugar. That was almost 800 calories before lunch.
Exactly. Even eating clean and healthy - the calories add up. The biggest key to weight loss is watching your sugar intake. That's empty calories and it pours on the pounds. Reducing calories is NOT the way to lose weight. Your body thinks it's a time of famine, and starts turning the calories you DO eat into fat stores to get you through the "famine". It's just not smart. Low fat foods are actually the worst for you. The companies replace the fat with sugar! High fat foods help you feel full. You should be drinking full fat milk, full fat yogurt and other dairy products - they help you feel full and curb the munchies. Plus they are delicious.

Out of all the lies I have told, "just kidding" is my favorite !
Lunch was a slice of American cheese, four crackers, a fruit cup.
Dinner was a cup of grilled zucchini, 2 ounces steak, 1 cup of egg drop soup.
I've had 20 onces of coke today.
Each time I eat, I feel stuffed.
I had all that before 5, I wont eat again till morning.
I feel like I'm gonna puke I feel so full.

MM is right. Full fat milk and cheese is better. It keeps you fuller longer. And low fat dressings just have more sugar.

Just remember nothing in life is "free". That goes for food, too. If it says fat-free, sugar-free, or any other free - there is a catch, and the catch is usually worse than what you were trying to avoid.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
Nope, nothing is free. I start my day by looking at it like I have 1500 "cash" to spend. Then I have to make choices during the day. I ask myself if I want to spend xyz on something. If I can say no that's too much I don't eat it.

It also helps to write everything you eat or drink down.

Most people value their money and don't want to spend it willy nilly. If you can get into the habit of thinking of calories as cash it will help. A long time ago someone told me to take a blank check book and every morning to "deposit" my calories. As I went through the day eating and drinking to subtract my "purchases". This method still works for me today.

So using that logic, when you exercise it's like giving yourself a raise!

YES! Exactly! Exercise can go in the "deposit" column! More exercise means more "cash" to spend!
