Kid is going to have to settle for a couple freezer waffles and a banana this morning.
How is your daughter, IKWTDS?

She is getting better. I am glad school was closed for the day. It was going to be a tough decision as to sending her to school or not. Glad she has another day to improve.

I think we are in for a dramatic weather event one way or another.
And for the record, turn on your dad gum lights, people!

We have been approved by the Great Pyrenees rescue and we are going to meet a sweet boy this week!
Yeehaw! What is his name? How old is he?
Details! We need details!
His name is Buddy, he is 4. He is a mixed with something, although I'm not sure what. He's small for a Great Pyrenees (only about 60 pounds) and adorable beyond measure. His body is white but he has some tan tufting on his head. I saw a video of him playing and he's sooooo sweet! My kids have already decided this is the dog before even meeting him.

If it's overcast, you are supposed to have your lights on.
I usually keep my lights on all the time.
No matter the weather.

We have an electrified tennis racket for killing flies and such. DS spotted a fly and zapped it. Turns out, it was a bee. DS was very proud of his kill.
Found a 24/7 live stream music on youtube. Very chill and easy to listen to stuff. Have had it on at work now all morning and afternoon. [video=https://www.youtube.com/c/nourish/live]

DH suggested cutting off its head and mounting it. I declined.
Oh, I have one of those! We get 1 or 2 wasps in the house each year and I've used it for them as well. Those are tough to kill and require multiple zaps.

We are meeting Buddy at 4:30 on Saturday at his vet. He is in the middle of heartworm treatment. They caught it early as soon as he came into the rescue, but we'll have to learn about his treatment. Luckily - the rescue covers the cost, we just pay the adoption fee. He's been on the treatment for a few weeks and he'll have his big follow up on February 26th-27th. We have to keep him calm for several weeks - no exercise.

We went through the heartworm treatment with Jupiter.
It's usually one shot, in the evening. And another shot the next day.
Then, keep them calm, for 30 days.
(If they take off running, it can send on embolism to their lungs. Sudden death.)
I'm impressed that the rescue covers the cost.
If they are doing it properly, it costs almost a $1000.
(Proper treatment for a dog with heartworms, doesn't take weeks, LL. The recovery, on the other hand, takes a month. I'm worried that they are doing a cheap version of treatment.)
We've got huge amounts of snow predicted for tomorrow 'evening'. I can't decide whether to take the day off or brave it. It's one of my kids' birthday, so I was going to do a 'thing' for her, but if the weather sucks....

Buddy is in the pre-treatment stage, with antibiotics and such. He will get his shot on the 26th, and second shot on the 27th. The information page says they usually spend about $1200 per dog getting them healthy, and the adoption fee no where covers it. They run on a lot of donations. We probably just found our new charity:)
