And due to my heating system repair my plans changed.  I was going to a hike with a group of ladies on the coast but now I have to be home for the heating Technician. I hope something can be done today.  The temps in my second floor are in the 80's,  Sigh...

So far, it is a sunny Saturday afternoon. Temps are supposed to be around 70 but storms are rolling in later and temps will drop.

DH and I are finally heading to City Tavern for lunch. Replica of the original where talks to form the US started.

Maybe hit a museum afterwards.

It was nearly 80 yesterday and today it's in the 40s. What a change. I really need to do laundry and clean. And into town to do a couple errands. Ended up visiting with my cousin for a bit and decided to have lunch. Thinking of getting my nails done. It's been a while and I do like when they're all pretty.

Pulled weeds and cut back the knockout roses. Way back. They get too straggly. Looks like it is going to rain any minute now.

10K, but that is everything! including a new oil line which is apparently leaking, plus venting of the system to the outside so I don't have to worry about soot or carbon monoxide. High efficiency, so 10K is not all that bad.

Yeah, they are guaranteed for 25 years. I won't have issues, or shouldn't have issues, for as long as I live here. And I plan to sell in 10 years so it will still be a selling point for when I sell. I knew I would have to replace it at some point, so better now to enjoy the benefits, plus my fuel costs will decrease by about 10%.

Hopefully it will be worth it, IKWTDS. We had to replace ours, heater & A/C, about 6 years ago. We did have some installation problems, and took a couple of years worth of repeat visits for them to get it right. Once the warranty expired, I found a new HVAC company.

Funny, this company noticed the ductless AC system I have and commented that they are the best system on the market. The HVAC company I had come earlier in the week are the ones that installed the AC, very please with that, but not happy about the HVAC person that came out, he was total upsell, and no help.  The company I had come out today I have use at my other houses in the past, told me straight up the issues, showed me how to turn off the valves that were pumping heat so my house isn't at 87 degrees, and were so much more professional and trustworthy like.  That is why I went with this company that came out today. I am going to let the other company know and also recommend some training for their techs.  Be totally honest and just help them out in the short term.  Had that tech done that, the first company would have my furnace business.

There are so many techs who are not properly trained.

Packing up to leave Hawaii tonight. I don't want to go. DH and I had a semi serious convo about selling all of our possessions and coming here to live. It's paradise.

What a beautiful picture, MM!

Would you really want to live there, full time?

Or, just thinking about it?

We are on the big island, Kona side. I would do it in a heartbeat but it would cost a fortune to ever see the kids and that is the ONLY thing holding us back.

They oversold our flight home and are offering $800 plus two nights at the Hilton and cab fare. If it was one night we would do it but DH has to fly out on Tuesday for a seminar.
