Winter break is over, back to school for Aaron.

So, so glad this is the last year of getting a kid to school.

Happy Monday, ya'll.

Where were you, Trudy?

That seems like a late winter break, Lily. Do they get any time off during Christmas?

Dr. Seuss week at school. Crazy hat day today. Should be a fun week!

Oh yeah, we had almost 3 weeks off at Christmas.

And Spring break is about 5 or 6 weeks away, then school is out for Summer at the end of May.

Wow. They get a lot of time off!

I'm curious to see if ours are released for summer earlier since we did not have any snow days.

 Our schools go 175-180 days.

We start around the 7th of August and end around the 25th of May.

It's basically year round.

Off to see the pain management doctor for DH. First
appointment - lots (lots!) of paperwork to fill out.
Fortunately, they sent it early by e-mail, so we had
lots of time to complete it. Then I'll probably treat
him to Chinese buffet - for someone who doesn't
like "Chinese food" - he loves the buffets!

Afternoon everyone! Hope everyone had a good, albiet short, weekend. Back to reality now.

Was up early and out to breakfast with neighbors who are sisters. I kinda reamed out the one sister. She is diabetic. But thinks if she takes extra medicine it means she can eat more like crap. And then wonders why her blood sugar levels are not coming down. So, I was rather blunt with her. Then we went to the Asian grocery store. I challenged them to get one thing they never tried before. They both got a fruit item - Honey Crisp apple for one and a kiwi fruit for the other. I got a lemon plum and other produce.

Finishing up one last small thing for school. A journal entry for what I learned during this term. Laundry is going. I have 4 load total to finish today, 2 are clothes and 2 are sheets and blankets. May even get to the kitchen floor.

Last day off before I go back to work. Today I will do laundry, clean out the fridge, and tidy up around the house.

DH is at the car dealership trading in our Nissan for a new one. Heated seats again and remote start as well as the new moon roof! I can't wait to drive it in the summer.

Is the only keyboard you ever owned?  Maybe it fell off a previous one and your cat found it and brought it to you?

So first, I have heat again, love the looks of the system. The installers were impressed by the A/C units I installed last summer, they also have the heating setting. The installers said that if the temps are 25 or above that I should shut off the oil burner and turn on the heat pump, said it is cheaper/more efficient. Good lord I have an efficient house now! Hopefully that will be a great selling point!

Interesting thing: the boss that fired me at my last job, and "testified" against me in my unemployment hearing, requested to connect on Linked In. I don't harbor any ill will to him. That was not the right job for me, and actually getting fired when I did was a good thing. I've come out even better. I just find it interesting.

Yay for new furniture, bathrooms, and don't let him in your linkedin network.

Did you get zoning, IKWTDS? I love it. Both floors are comfortable and I have a little wireless remote on my nightstand so if I wake up in the middle of the night and want to adjust it, I don't have to get out of bed.

Hi all! Made it back home late yesterday.

I left early on Thursday to beat the snow storm and it was a really good idea! There is 10 more inches of snow here!

All we had in Omaha was rain, thunder snow and a lot of ice. Lead to a great weekend with little man. :)

Today was laundry and clean up the house day. DH had four of the grand's as well. Yeah, they make a mess. I swear they used every towel we own!

Finished an old project today. Finally put the binding on a set of quilted placemats I had made 2 years ago and ran out of material. By the time I bought the right material, I had stuffed the project in the bottom of the box. It had been bugging me that I hadn't finished them yet. So, done!

Have kids tonight again. At least no one has tried to kill anyone this time. Last week the neighbor boy put the 8 yr old DGS down a pipe that was sunk about 7 feet down into the ground by their house. He tied a strap around DGS and lowered him down. DGS got stuck because neighbor kid actually dropped him (insert head banging emoticon). The pipe is about a 15 or 16 inch diameter tube. What it is for is beyond me, but it's deep and an 8 year old can get wedged in it when he's dropped. Good thing they had tied him to a long strap. Those kids (oldest DGD and neighbor kid) had to work hard to get DGS out of that thing.

Kids were screaming and bawling all over the place. DGS is covered in bruises. Tough luck kid, it's called consequences of doing something stupid.

Neighbor kids dad is not a happy camper. His boy probably got a hefty punishment for being stupid as well. And he was snotty to me on top of it. His dad was really ticked.

Hopefully, this week will be uneventful.

I'm not betting on it.

It's still in the pricing stage.

But when it comes to decorating, I will welcome all the help I can get.

I'm going for a sophisticated beach feel.

Oh DD wasn't happy when she had to start using deodorant.  She was embarrassed I bought her  5 pack, she won't need me to buy it it again for years. Why are girls embarrassed? They all stink at that age???

Yeah.

Next is locked bathroom and bedroom doors, taking a really long time in the shower, and all the other "discoveries" that follow.

They already take forever to shower. But I don't think they are discovering yet. I have a material curtain which stays on the outside of the tub with a clear plastic curtain inside. They don't want anyone "peeking", so who knows. I've been talking to them about body changes for awhile, but still need to discuss "that".

Will your hubs have that talk with them or will you?

I had the talk with each of mine.

Caitlyn was easy to talk to, I am a girl after all.

But the boys. It wasn't easy answering all their questions because I've never been a guy.

But we muddled through.

I will. He couldn't even admit the truth about Santa, even when they asked him point blank. But for "feelings", I'll need to direct them to him.
