I'm up too. DH had to go in to work really early and I can't sleep for worrying. I sure hope he get's home before the worst of it. It's already coming down pretty heavy. Prayers for anyone who has to be out there on the roads today.

Snow storm a bust for us. We have sleet and freezing rain, but onl about 5 inches of snow. The weatherman were way off on this one.

We only got an inch or so. Sleet followed. We might get some more throughout the morning, but not much in the way of accumulation. DH will go out in a bit to assess. Probably too icy to play in.
There is a new scam out there for people looking to rent apartments. We've moved from the 'I'm going to the West Indies, so please wire money and I'll sent you the key' to 'Please send me pictures of yourself'.

Took 3 hours, but Aaron is now in the other school.
He started immediately.
It's strict, too.
If you are 20 minutes late for class, it's an absence.
If you have 3 absences, the fourth you are ejected from the class, and you can not start the class over until the next semester.
And there is no excuse accepted for tardiness or absences.
You are to be in class, every class.
The reason they get 20 minutes is because, first, the classes are 90 minutes long, and second, they have students coming from other schools. So they have a 20 minute cushion.
There are 4 schools on this campus.
The one Aaron is enrolled in which serves every high school in our system, the career academy, the ged program, and the technical college.
And yes, the students can dual enroll and take college/technical courses along with their regular school classes.

Except I think we are accumulating sleet at this point. It is all I have heard since about 7:00 am along with the wind.

Went out and helped DH shovel the walkway and driveway. There appears to be a layer of ice under the inch or so of snow and it was very heavy. I'll be feeling it tomorrow. But it's melting already, so that's good. The boys had a lot of fun playing in it. Couldn't convince them to pick up a shovel, however...
hahaha! I gotta say tho... I like watching new york news people freek out over snow storms. It is like they have not ever gone through a blizzard before and it is something awesome to behold and be scared of.
Come ON people... it is called WINTER. This means that the weather could very well dump on you once in a while. Get over it!
And it is 37, our real feel is 20. Temps are going down in the teens or even single digits tonight.

Not in NY but it is more the pain in the butt of it than anything. Yes, we get blizzards. But we have had more 70 degree weather this winter than cold days. Yesterday, people were at the grocery store like the apocalypse was coming. The longest I have ever been snowed in was three days when we got 36" of snow. Even then, on day 2 Dad and I went to the school to check on the boiler. Tomorrow morning will likely be worse than today as what melts will freeze makign the roads icy again.
Not that I want it but I want it to be below freezing for about a week so some bugs can get killed off.
Basketball starts tonight! I left work right on time, picked up dinner and we are ready!
It feels so weird to be home. With the time change, it is so bright out still. And by leaving "on time" I'm home an hour earlier than usual. I only feel a tad bit guilty.

One of our neighbors just drove by and meowed at Jim who was sitting in the window. He couldn't see that the window was open and we were all at the table eating dinner. We almost fell out of our chairs laughing.

We had a missing t.v. controller this evening. Took us almost a hour to find it. Finally after looking in all of my grandsons hiding places found it stuck between the t.v. trays.
So I have worked 12 hours today, just signed off, then the 2 hours of snow removal. My dog hates me because I ignored him all day with the exception of meals and pee time, DD hates me for other reasons, and my boss screwed me over because of her OCD, which caused the 12 hours of work today. I believe I have country song lyrics in the making.

Awe that stinks! Hope he is feeling better so he can enjoy his trip. Hope you have a chance to try some quava juice and quava jelly. It is delicious.
