I've heard it is lame and won't help things much. The R-senate don't want to put their names on it and I don't blame them. Trump allowed Ryan to run with a stupid bill. Trump should look at David (?) Price's bill written a few years ago.
Of course the two pressing issues in controlling costs are reigning in the ridiculous # visits to ER by both residents and people who come to this country just to take a taxi to the ER once their plane lands. And lawsuits need to be reigned in.
I would love to hear the experiences and opinions of working health care professionals on the board.

To me, it seems like it would be smarter to put caps on certain things.
I think health insurance should be pick and pay. Pick what you need, pay for that.
For example, I don't need birth control, cover a visit a year and that's all I should need to pay for.
I also think if it is cheaper to pay cash, that should be an option.
I can see a PA for most things and the visit is usually about $20. Give or take, depending on what they do.
I may go to the doctor twice a year.
Why should I pay monthly for something I'm not using?
Maybe have something for ER visits, I think I manage 1 a year.
I'm not sure how it would all work out, but it would create more of a free market and that causes lower rates.

I really don't know if it's good or bad because there has been very little coverage about what is actually in the bill. I have turned on Fox, CNN and Lou Dobbs and have heard very little about the actual particulars on the bill. They only seem to focus on whether it will pass or not.
But, Obama slammed a huge hideous bill thru. Approaching it in the same way as a 911 emergency is not the way to go in my opinion. But, i don't really know what is in it.
The media is trying to play up the fear that millions will lose coverage.
Well, there are millions who don't have it, never had it. So this is not new.
I believe it also pulls back on the requirement that businesses provide insurance.

I'm not sure enough is being pulled back. And I don't think anyone really knows at this point what is in it. I hope the Senate knows before they vote. No more of this, "we have to pass it to find out" crap.
I don't care as long as the fines for not having insurance are stopped.

Yeah, I don't understand this. (this is one of my 'FNW, please explain stuff to me?' posts). Do people not have full access to the information before voting? It sounds like it's redacted or that there is a 'mystery' chapter...

They do have full access. During the GGF (great government furlough), I decided to actually read the ACA. Well, I started. It was over 1,000 pages and boring as hell.
No one really took the time to read it before they voted.

I hope that it doesn't pass and Obamacare remains. In another year or so, O'care will die a natural death and then the libs can't blame Trump for it.
They will blame Trump no matter what. If it stays, then "people are dying because he didnt' go far enough". IF it is partially or fully repealed, then people are dying blah, blah. Which is my point. He should do EXACTLY what he thinks should be done and never compromise with the Left or Rinos on anything.
You know, I think I've changed my stance from the OP. The man is a genius. Everytime I roll my eyes at something he has done thinking he just made a huge mistake, he proves me wrong. I will trust him.

LOL He is genius! He even told the NY Times that He will let O care implode, since it is already collapsing. And that will force the Dems to work with him. It's called the Art of the Deal!

I love it!
The libs are now complaining that it's Trump's fault O'care is imploding. Can't make the libs happy.

And with the 2018 election looming, they will be hurting even more. 2 months was too quick of a time frame anyway to untangle the mess O left on O care. Trump can do a few things, such as not penalize those not buying insurance, and I bet he will still do that. Also, I hope he forces the Congress and staffers onto O care. That will make things happen fast and make it a good bill, the replacement that is.
