I'm going to venture a guess here but it seems to me the women who have not been faithful, in their or someone else's marriage, are the ones who are screaming this is not fair that Pence has made a decision to NOT dine with a woman alone in a restaurant for the sake of his career, which hasn't been hurt at all by this, and for his marriage.

 Wrong again.

MM3 has plenty of people who question his decision, as does that board you left.

Proving the point.  The most immoral people I've even come across.

 Your moral superiority is hilarious.

Thing is, no matter what any elected official does, someone is going to raise a fuss about whatever action.

Pence wants to protect himself from any hint of impropriety and guard against baseless accusations and he gets blasted for it. Yet, if he were to dine alone with a woman other than his wife and someone saw it and made a story of it, he'd be blasted for not watching what he does and told he should've known better. He can't win.

"I trust my husband" said the estranged wife of the man who "fell in love" with his co-worker after spending a lot of time with her over the years.

Sure, you can fall in love if you spend copious amounts of time with someone. Which is why married men shouldn't do that. Alone or otherwise.

So, anyone that you spend "copious amounts of time with" means that you will fall in love?

How ludicrous.

I spend time with LOTS of people without falling in love.

And, as I have stated before, we were NOT alone for almost 4 years.

Try again.

Obviously it's YOU who doesn't know the difference between "should" and "must". Who the flip cares what YOU think Pence "should" or "must" do in his own freaking marriage. I and many others consider him a gentleman for doing exactly what he's doing and your opinion is just that, an opinion.
- Tinydancer

You keep missing the point. I don't care what he does in his marriage. I didn't care what Bill did in his marriage, I didn't care what Obama did in his marriage, I didn't and don't care what Trump did or does in his marriage.

I care what they do or did as a servant of the public, in interactions with other public servants.

You need to get over the idea that I care about his marriage in any way, shape, or form. His marriage is between him, his wife and God.

So public servants give up all rights to their private lives? Do you think anyone would ever run for office if that was really true? Please cite some law or precedent that corroborates this ridiculous argument.
- Tinydancer

____________________________________

The military is a form of "public service" and they voluntarily give up many rights, in order to serve their country. There's your precedent.

There's also the fact that as Vice President he is a "Public Servant", note the first word in that two word combination: "Public". Just over half of that "public" is women. When you serve the public, you serve ALL of the public, not just the men. There's more precedent for you.

Pence, by honoring his wife, is in fact showing honor for all women.

It seems he thinks pretty highly of women.

Because this also benefits the woman.

She can't be accused of anything untoward either.

You said one thing right WYSIWYG "he shows what he thinks of their worth". All the rest of it is things you made up in your head. Nice try with the military but that's like comparing apples to oranges. You've not given one single example of where it says that you must give up your personal life and moral code because you're a public servant. Most people are voted in because of their morality even if it's only perceived morality.

No. I don't think you know what a fact is. You had an affair with your married boss which led to him divorcing his wife and marrying you. This is something you have bragged about on multiple boards and seem proud of. You are not a credible person to be talking about whether men and women should be doing workplace stuff alone.

No, the marriage was over long before he met me. I convinced him that he was more than a doormat.

You live in a Black and White world, and that's fine.

Do you think I sat down one day and said, "I am a single mother on a very tight budget. I don't have enough stress in my life...Hmmm...I know! I'll fall in love with my married boss! That should hurt like Hell."

The people that object the most to anyone's More stringent moral standards ....regardless of who we're talking about... are the people that don't like what they see when looking at their own hence getting defensive and taking it as a personal attack.

I knew he died in the crash, but I thought that coincided with the affair. I was wrong. I am very sorry you went through widowhood.
