Morning.

Taking Aaron to get his learner's license this morning.

Then, may get a pedicure.

May just come home and do nothing.

Happy Friday, ya'll!

Got some house cleaning to do, and then set the
dining room table for our anniversary dinner.
Have to be at the Lodge Hall by one to set up for
the fund-raiser fish fry. I've been accumulating
lots and lots of fish over the past six months, so
we have enough. First year, we served 130 plates;
second year, 146. This year? Who knows? I do
the cutting & breading, and two or three of the
men do the actual frying, outside. All the other
ladies of the Chapter are responsible for the cole
slaw, mac & cheese, hush puppies, desserts, and
iced tea. And clean up! That's the hardest part,
when we're all tired, to make sure the hall is
clean, and the trash taken out.

Because DH and I donate all the fish, we've raised
enough money to fully fund two scholarships in
the past two fish fries. Hope we do as well this
year.

And then I have to cook DH's and my own dinner.
It's our fifth anniversary, and he wants prime rib,
peas with mushrooms, baked potato, and a salad.
The two slabs of meat he bought yesterday are
GINORMOUS! I've got some serious work ahead
of me.

Happy Anniversary!!!!!!!!

I'm ready for the weekend!!!! We're having a dinner / game night with some friends tomorrow, so I need to work out a menu. He's 100% Italian (both parents were born in Italy and came here right before he was born), she's 100% Southern. We have a BLAST with them!

Will this "vacation" never end?? We are supposed to be on our way home. We left over an hour ago and haven't even made it through pigeon forge, the traffic has been insane. And now we have to stop to eat. Not like normal people who want to get home that just grab a burger on the go. Oh no. We are at Denny's. Again.

I can now hear them in the front seats discussing which way to take home. I swear if we take the "scenic route" someone is going over a cliff.

And the dog is taking up two-thirds of the back seat and insists on being able to touch me at all times.

Fridays are insane on Fridays in Pigeon Forge.

Denny's again?

Word to the wise, if you take the scenic route and find yourself in Benton, they are super serious about obeying speed limits.

1 mile over can get you a ticket.

Happy anniversary, momala!

It's been a strange couple of days. I've been fighting a cold since January. I went to the Dr. last Thursday and she prescribed an antibiotic for a slight sinus infection. This antibiotic is one I've never taken before. It's 250mg twice a day. By day seven, I felt worse, much worse. Every muscle in my body ached, feverish, chills, throat on fire, coughing up a lung, sneezing, etc. I stayed home from work yesterday and did nothing but lay around, napping on and off. I took one antibiotic in the morning but after feeling so horrible all day, I said no more. This morning, I felt tired, achy, still coughing, very light headed but got ready and went to work. Good thing I did because I was only one of two who showed up. I asked the manager to please call someone else in so I could go home. Took them five hours to do it but I left work an hour early. I feel somewhat better since I was out and got some fresh air. lol

I sometimes wonder if there isn't something in this new (to me) apartment that isn't healthy (for me). It was built in the late 1800s which makes me wonder if there could be mold or something between the walls. If I spend a lot of time home, I feel miserable and achy, tired, congested. I think perhaps I may start looking for another apartment.

Hahaha . . . oh sorry! Soon, you'll be home, relaxing, enjoying a glass of your favorite beverage and saying, "Ahhhhhhhhh, Never again!"

Seriously, this is the blasted trip that will never end. I don't know where we are, but we are not moving anywhere fast. It's going to be well after 9 before we finally get home.

Wow, DG, you would have had a better vacation staying home while your parents were gone.

From your posts, it's been a horrible trip.

It had some good moments. But yes, overall, I would have preferred to stay home. But I know my mom wanted to have this big family vacation. I love her and want her to be happy, so I endured it. But bet your bottom I'll have an urgent project next time the idea comes up. My boss told me anytime to just text her and she'd call and say I was needed back right away lol.

I know that if I didn't come, someday I would regret it. Even with how much I regret going at this moment.

For the record, we are coming into Cincinnati. Why we came this way, no clue. About 4 hours left. And the dog is still touching me.

My dad has a conference next week. He's taking my mother to Colorado with him. So starting Tuesday I have the house to myself for 4 days. I'm focusing on that.

When they can, they do take him. But yes, Buster will be home too. But I will get to leave him upstairs to spend time with my aloof Corgi.

I see Chinese and Netflix in my future

dog? T is my best friend, she's been basically home bound for over a month following surgery. She injured her right knee, so can't drive.

Glad you made it home DG. Had to go to Walmart today. Hate going on the weekend, excited to find a new Mary Higgins Clark book😄. Sat in my jacuzzi and now enjoying a glass of wine.
