No, but your anecdotes have been proven wrong time and time again. So I tend to rely on my own 100 times your experiences and Gs 1000 times more experiences over your 2 or 3.
You are THAT jealous of me? Hatred takes a LOT of energy to sustain.
My "anecdotes" are things that happened to ME. How can that be "wrong?" Unless you were there.

Oh, and I'm SICK of you calling me a liar.

Yeah...you are a liar.

Seems a couple was heading to the Caribbean for their
wedding. When they got to their assigned seats, they
found a man sprawled over all three seats, snoring
away. Since there were lots of empty seats, they sat
about 3 rows forward of the assigned seats. The FAs
came up and demanded they return to their assigned
seats, saying the new seats (still in economy, and not
in business or first) were "upgraded" seats. When they
tried to explain the predicament, the FAs had them
escorted off the plane. No mention of what happened
to the man to had taken up their seats.

pretty annoying when that happens, isn't it?
I have worked for 36 years & known lots of pregnant women. I have never encountered what you described. Period.
I rarely use the overhead bins. It's not easy for people my size to get stuff in and out - I usually have to ask for help. One of the multiple reasons I fly Southwest, I can check my stuff without it costing an arm and a leg.
I carry on a large tote that fits under the seat, I keep my purse and books and such in it, makes it convenient for when I want to get something out. If I have a jacket I keep that under the seat or I sit on it. I don't recall a time I had to access anything in a suitcase I put in the overhead bin.

United has "economy plus" seats which offer additional leg room. The FA's should have escorted the couple to their seats and had the snoring seat hog move over. The couple should have done that first. You don't get to move to other seats until the plane reaches its cruising altitude.

Yes, that is what should have happened. But apparently, just being perceived as annoying by the flight attendant is enough of a reason to kick people off planes now. Customer service is dead and fascist rule reigns.

Well, in defense of the airlines, they shouldn't have to put up with unruly, rude, obnoxious flyers. Flying is very serious business and there should be a low tolerance for idiots. So, i don't mind that or disagree with that. However, that now seems to have resulted in a hair trigger of giving someone a beat down for simply disagreeing or saying No.
This one really bites. This couple was on their way to their wedding for goodness sake! Now we are subjected to the bully in the airline?!
They were reported as being very unruly but who knows who to believe anymore? Now, they just yell "resisting arrest' and that becomes the permission to beat the crap out of someone.

It seems that arguing your point now gets you deemed "unruly".

No, they didn't. I think now she's talking about Dr. Dau again.
His attorney is suing for excessive force. Apparently, he needs reconstructive work on his nose and he lost 2 teeth in addition to the massive concussion.

and yet I bet you will be hard pressed to find out how EXACTLY they were unruly. Seems like a blanket excuse to me. And because airlines can get away with it, they will continue to get away with it.
If someone were sprawled out on my seat I would wake them up and ask them to move. I would not just assume I could sit anywhere I wanted. That was their first mistake. I would be curious to know how they tried to explain the situation to the FA. It seemed like either the FA had zero patience or the couple really were obnoxious about it. Have any witnesses come forward?
I flew united to Asia and switched seats with a little boy so he could sit with his mother, never thought anything about it. The attendants didn't seem to care.

See, if there were a bunch of empty seats, I wouldn't. I would assume they accidentally laid down in the wrong seats and just sit elsewhere. It wouldn't even occur to me that would be a problem.

Yep. I would just sit somewhere else. I really don't care where I sit.

I guess it could be for identification, in case something happens if the plane crashes during take-off; if you're in your own seat you are more easily identifiable. If you move after they can change the manifest and then if the plane crashes later then can still identify you. Maybe they are unable to change the manifest that early, for whatever reason (pre-flight inspections, etc?)

But is all that something the average person thinks about before being told by the FA?

I was jammed in the last seat by a window. Going to San Fran. Sooo a Chinese Mom gets on with screaming baby. Ugh. The smell, the screams. I jumped out of the seat and the attendant just looked at me and nodded. That kid screamed the whole ride.

Then that's a stupid rule. The possibility of surviving a plane crash is almost zero.

But was the plane in the air? Moving after the plane reaches cruising altitude is permitted, from what I have seen. Not during boarding, before take-off, and not until the seatbelt sign goes off.
That is true. And then it wouldn't matter. But United has seat assignments.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not giving United a pass. But I'm not giving the passenger one either. I just would be interested to hear what really happened. It seems very popular lately to present big business (in this case, airlines) in a bad manner.
I have to wonder how this story came to light, too. But I guess with social media, everything is now public.
Our Ireland trip is 100% United. While approving the itinerary, the travel agent told us that we have to sign a "Rule of Conduct " form. We are the first clients of hers that have had to do this. I guess United is covering their ass...

I'm not really airline loyal...wherever I can get the best rates or use points. I have FF accounts with every airline I have ever flown, and I have a United VISA and American Airlines Mastercard. And AMEX which is 1:1 with Delta or 2:1 with Virgin.
O4 - was it an explanation of United's code of conduct so that you were informed before you went? Or was it an agreement to not fight back when they kicked you up and piled you off the plane ...
If someone was sprawled across the seats sleeping, I would tell the FA that there is someone sprawled across the seats sleeping and blocking my seat. So, i really don't understand that. i think there is more to that couple's story as well.

I agree. It honestly wouldn't occur to me to just sit somewhere else. That's my seat, I'm going to sit in it (Unless directed otherwise by an airline employee). And that sleeping guy would need to be woken up anyways. The plane wouldn't be able to take off with him sprawled over multiple seats.
His worst flying story was...he got on the plane, and spotted his seat.
Sadly, a huge man, was in the middle seat, and he had already raised the arm rest. There was no way, Wayne was going to fit, in what was left, of his seat.
Wayne turned around, and walked to the front of the plane.
He told the flight attendant, of his plight. And asked if she could find him a different seat.
(No way did Wayne want to embarrass the man. He just knew they both wouldn't fit, and he was hoping for another solution to the problem.)
The flight attendant asked Wayne to just hang out in the front of the plane for a few minutes. If someone didn't show up, she could put him in their seat.
(If that hadn't happened, the flight attendant would have had to boot the huge man, off the plane.)
Happily, they found an empty seat for Wayne.
Huge man didn't get embarrassed , and Wayne got a seat he could fit in.
Sometimes, a little common sense, and a little understanding, go a long way.
Be kind. And treat people, the way you would like to be treated.

I'm not loyal per se, but I do like Southwest above all of the others. They are just friendlier.
We also have a Southwest credit card that we pay ALL of our bills with (with the exception of the mortgage), so we rack up miles pretty quickly.

I don't have it yet. When I get it, I will post it.
