Our temps are taking a nose dive this week as well. Frost is in our forecast for later in the week.
It's a brisk 41 degrees out there right now.
We have a very busy week ahead of us here. I am not looking forward to fixing all the messed up banking accounts due to the bank changing their bank routing number. Oh my, what a headache..

I hate Mondays. And I woke up broken out all over with a rash, no idea what caused it. It's bumpy and itchy, seems like a reaction to something, but I didn't eat anything new yesterday.

We can develop an allergy at the snap of a finger.
DD's youngest has been fighting hives for two weeks. No clue why either.

Thanks FWM. I didn't realize how many automatic payment accounts we had set up.
Have to notify every single one verbally. Already tried the web system and not a single account allows for changing routing number. Head banging emoticon, lol.
The credit card company person was extremely appreciative. And the phone company. Now to hit all the federal and insurance companies.
And we have only TWO credit cards, one is from the bank that changed the routing number. You would think they would do it automatically, but no. ARGH!

The sun is finally out, going to a steamy 67 today.
Yay! O4.
Sorry Czech and FWM.
Yay for pool time, FNW!
I feel ya, Momala.

Folks... there is one huge drawback to having big yards and gardens... weeding. Hubby and I spent tons of hours last weekend AND this weekend weeding out our flower gardens and we are only half done. Ugh. I hate it with a passion. Oh and something I forgot. One of the meds I am on for fighting the chemo rash is one where I need to stay out of the sun. I forgot about this. As a result of LAST weekend weeding while wearing a tank top, I have a horrible swath of blister rash on my chest that is only now starting to go away. This weekend, I kept a tshirt on and tried to weed in areas where the sun wasnt shining, but who am I kidding? I am not made for gardening. I am exhausted. But there is still a vegetable garden to clean out, and two additional flower gardens that need weeding.
Ugh.
And yet come August, I will get all sorts of compliments on my beautiful yard and I will forget all about this painful part. lol!
If I could wave a magic wand and give me an automatic desire for something, it would be exercise. I loath even WALKING. It is just so boring to me. It would solve so many problems for me but alas I just cant gather the gumption to care for exercise of any kind.
Do it, force yourself to go, even if it's just to the mailbox and back.

Congratulations to your husband flan. My little grandson fell and bumped his head real good on the tile floor 😢. Has a goose egg on his forehead. Called my dil to come check him out and to see if he needed to be taken to the dr. Breaks my heart. :(
Thanks, I wish I could put a helmet on him and wrap him up in bubble wrap.. He is taking his nap right now. His goose egg has gone down and he is doing fine now. Since 45 mins is his normal length of time to sleep I will wake him up if he sleeps beyond that.
How old is he, Lindley? Does he remember it happening? Can he answer simple questions? Any memory blanks or vision problems? Did you check to see if his pupils could dilate?
He is about 18 months. His pupils are normal and still knows his words and asked to watch props pig. He ate a good lunch and conned me into giving him fish crackers. I hate head bumps too!

If it's a big bump, it's usually ok. When you want to be really worried is when it is a dent rather than a bump.

The neurologist I use to baby sit for said, with a head injury, like you are talking about, if the bump comes out, that's good.
If there is no loss of conciousness, there is less to worry about.
Check the pupils, equal and responsive, great.
Sleeping is fine.
Check breathing.
Watch for vomiting, excessive crying, or odd movements/behavior, and fever.

THIS! When my DS hit his head, the Dr said,
1) (as stated above) it's good that it is out (as opposed to dented)
2) Wake him up every hour for the next 12 hours or so (this happened in the evening, so not long before bedtime).
You are doing perfect!

When #2 got his concussion a few years ago I asked about the waking up part and they said they don't do that anymore. I even asked the concussion specialists at Children's Hospital and they said nope. I still did it anyway. Can't hurt, and it's better to be safe than sorry, IMO.
He went out to look at my Jeep, and he came back in and said," Hey, I remember working on your Jeep! You're the only person I know who has a Liberty with a 5-speed!"
I just laughed. I told him I'd run the wheels off her, since they don't make them anymore.
Everyone is traveling. The Boy is on his way to Arkansas. My parents are in Texas. BFF is in Pennsylvania. Nothing like coming home to an empty house after a ****ty day. At least there is wine.

Ahh, the quiet time before the next storm. Enjoy!
I say that with true sincerity. I have learned to appreciate those rare days of peace at home alone.

I usually do. But today, it was the kind of day you want to come home and b!tch about. Corgi isn't very good at that.

Boys have a way of getting injured. DS faceplanted into the slide at the playground at Church. Huge goose egg above his left eye (I think it was, could've been his right eye). His eye swelled half shut. Both eyes were blackened. It took a good 2 months for the goose egg and bruising to completely disappear. No concussion. Looked like someone beat the stuffing out of him.
My mother kept a silver dollar in the freezer.
Any time I had a goose egg, she'd take the
silver dollar and press it - really really hard -
against the bump. In about 5 minutes the
bump had gone down, and I hardly ever got
a black & blue bruise. Don't know why it
worked, but it did.
Caitlyn had more lumps and bumps than both my boys, combined.

Awe!! Poor little guy, I bet that scared you to death.
Yes and no. He's a walking bruise and I've gotten desensitized to his injuries. He knows one speed - run. Doesn't have a care in the world either. I did, however, want to cry looking at his sweet little face at the height of the swelling. He was rather proud of the goose egg though. Showed it me when I picked him up from childcare.

Chef DS was like that. The bruises and such! You have to become desensitized just to be able to be logical in treating them.
