Drizzly here. Hope it clears. We've had enough rain for awhile. I need some sunshine.

Tomorrow is Take Your Child to Work Day here. Our agency pulls out all the stops. The boys are excited!

Drizzly here too. Doing some spring cleaning. I am off the rest of the week since it's school vaca. Taking DD to have some color put in her hair. I think she wants dark blue.

Dreary and overcast here. Rained most of the night but not expecting any today. No sunshine either. I'm solar powered so I'm missing the sun. Can someone please send me some?

Not much on the agenda for the day. I have some errands to run and may need to get a new cell. The speaker/mic on mine is garbling everything. *sigh*

FNW, sounds like it'll be a good time with the boys! Can't wait to hear all about it.

FWM, I hope things go well with the Chunk Muffin!

It's supposed to be sunny and in the 80s today. Zero chance of rain. It's supposed to be a beautiful day. One of those days I wish I had a window.

I got my essential oil starter kit yesterday. I have lemon and frankincense in my pendant today. It smells really good. And I will say, I feel a little more cheery and peppy this morning.

I put a drop of frankincense in my moisturizer each morning before applying to my face.

I just cleaned out the hall closet. Bringing 2 raincoats, 2 winter coats, 2 down vests, 4 scarves, stabilizing ball, and 2 throw pillows to Goodwill. Closet is still full! Oh and I found a missing garage door opener in one of the pockets of a coat for donation.

It is a brisk 36 degrees with a strong northerly wind here today. Brrr...

I plan to do absolutely nothing today.

Well, right now anyway. Hmm..

FNW, have fun with the boys!

Chunky Huey has gained about 1/3 of a pound. He's 17.06. (Still smaller than Jack Daniels!biggrin)

Oy, the Vet said he'll need to get his teeth cleaned, in the next year or so.

They gave me an estimate.

Low end, no extractions: $447.28.

High end: $918.35

STICKER SHOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(I remember we were talking about dogs getting their teeth cleaned a few weeks ago. Dang, cats aren't any cheaper!)cry

Most of the expense is sedation. Corgi got his teeth cleaned when he was in for another procedure. The teeth cleaning itself was only like $50. Since he was already sedated for his surgery, it was a bargain.

I paid ~400 for Sonny's teeth.  Well worth it, will helps prevent large bills down the road.

I know they are indoor cats, so, it's not as bad, Oh4.

You should a least take them in and get a rabies vaccine. (I think most places require it.)

And, they last 3 years now.

Our Vet is always so happy that we bring our cats in every year, for a check up.

He told us we are in the 1% of cat owners, who actually have yearly check-ups.

Most cat owners don't bother.

Dog owners are much better about taking their animals to the Vet.

(This is according to my Vet. I don't have a link, or anything.)

I will have to talk to G...

Would they still need a rabies vaccine if they've never been outside?

Since their chances of getting it are almost nil, probably not. (Now, if one escaped and came in contact with a rabid animal, oh dang!) But, even the chance of that happening is probably next to nothing, if it has never happened.)

I'm just suggesting it because most cities have a law that requires a rabies vaccine for pets.

Wow! Those are expensive vet bills!

We have people, who live four hours away, bring their pets here for care.

I heard the cost of getting a female cat spayed is $300 in the city. Here it is $75.

Sam's yearly check up is only $39.00..

We never took our pets to the vets unless they needed to be put down. And even then, we'd go to the pound. Ex-DH & I used to go to the park when they'd offer free shots. Then, they would give us a brochure on what shots were needed and when, and we'd go to the local animal supply store (farm animals) and buy the stuff ourselves and give them shots ourselves.

DD's cat had to have an eye removed after a cat fight. Cost - $180.00. That was with the antibiotic after care as well.

I had 1 cat to contract rabies.

My dad found her and I remember he caught her and was taking her to be put down.

She was in a horrible state, full on foaming at the mouth, couldn't be still, sick.

Many times, you can find one of those shots in the park things.

It's usually less than $20 depends on the size of the animal.

We took ours in when they were about 6 months old to get them fixed and their first shots.  After that clean bill of health, the vet said to bring them back in a year for a follow-up, but after that, if they were indoor cats, I didn't need to worry about it unless they got sick.

Here's a link to which state's have laws concerning rabies vaccines. (You're okay, LL. Georgia doesn't have a law.)wink

Texas does. Tennessee does. Here's the link: https://www.animallaw.info/topic/table-state-rabies-laws-concerning-cats

It's too big to paste.

So Tru Green is marketing a gypsy moth preventer.  Thing is, we don't have an issue at all with them. I remember the 70's when it was horrible.  But where I live now, not one gypsy moth.  But do I need to be worried?

It was on the gypsy moth crisis in Rhode Island. Last year was so bad it was like a horror movies. I had to cover my head to run from the door to the car. They said it will be worse this year but they go in cycles and next year will be better.

Yep, and I had zero last year plus removed all trees from my yard except for a plum tree and a cheery tree. My deck is safe from them.  You will just have to hang on my deck this year. biggrin

I don't think I've ever seen such a problem. We did get cicadas like never before on our wedding day, in 2004. They were harmless to plant and people, but they were everywhere. We were brushing them off each other at the club when were getting out pictures taken.

It wasn't a co-worker.  It was my child's youth leader at church.  I planned a meet and greet function for the new pastor with the blessing of the chairman of deacons and the pastor, and with that planning, it meant adult bible study would be canceled that evening b/c we would be staying late after church having a fellowship luncheon (Bible Study does not affect her - she runs youth during that time).  Apparently, I didn't clear it with her first, so she was mad b/c the pastor's kid might not show up for youth if there was no bible study for the adults.  Mind you - there are other kids in her group and since we've been without a pastor for months now, bible study hasn't been done at all, so it does not affect our children's activities.  When I told her that it did not cancel any other activities for the day, she would not back down, and refused to talk to me, and turned around and canceled youth for all the other kids.

And, our argument about it was all by text b/c she wouldn't answer the phone when I called, and I told her to call me to discuss it, and she didn't, and instead, she waiting until almost midnight and went on the youth's Facebook page and posted the cancellation.  So, I woke up to that in the morning.  That's why I was so mad yesterday.  To me, her response meant the other kids didn't matter if the the pastor's kids didn't show up.

I usually have such good luck with UPS. They are reliable. And their customer service is always so so helpful. Until today.

I sent something overnight. Paid extra so it would arrive by 10:30am today. Well, somehow the package got damaged and it won't arrive until tomorrow morning. No one can tell me anything other than the "documents were soiled and potentially torn". I have no idea if they are still usable and they have NO option for me to get it before tomorrow morning. I even offered to come pick it up, but damaged packages cannot be held for pick up. No one to look at the package and see if the contents are still intact. No help at all, other than repetedly telling me it will for sure be delivered by 10:30 tomorrow. It was supposed to be for sure today at 10:30!

I am so frustrated and my stomach is in knots. I know this isn't my fault - I didn't damage the package. But still.

Yes.  As shes gotten older, her bowels have gotten worse.  When she has to go, she has to go.  Right then.  So flying is out, and the beach is out.  We tried to talk her into it, but she would be so uncomfortable.  And I don't want that for her...
