 Is it her health?

Yes.  As shes gotten older, her bowels have gotten worse.  When she has to go, she has to go.  Right then.  So flying is out, and the beach is out.  We tried to talk her into it, but she would be so uncomfortable.  And I don't want that for her...

Oh, that reminds me of driving back from KC with my maternal grandmother and DH1.

It's an 8-hour drive and she refused even a sip of water.

I usually have such good luck with UPS. They are reliable. And their customer service is always so so helpful. Until today.

I sent something overnight. Paid extra so it would arrive by 10:30am today. Well, somehow the package got damaged and it won't arrive until tomorrow morning. No one can tell me anything other than the "documents were soiled and potentially torn". I have no idea if they are still usable and they have NO option for me to get it before tomorrow morning. I even offered to come pick it up, but damaged packages cannot be held for pick up. No one to look at the package and see if the contents are still intact. No help at all, other than repetedly telling me it will for sure be delivered by 10:30 tomorrow. It was supposed to be for sure today at 10:30!

I am so frustrated and my stomach is in knots. I know this isn't my fault - I didn't damage the package. But still.

So have you asked UPS about the secure document sending Product?  If your company is willing to pay a bit more, you can send documents securly.

I have not. We have never had an issue with UPS before (now FedEx, that's a whole other issue). For right now, the secure document delivery will be me hand delivering a new set of paperwork first thing in the morning.

Just an FYI, these companies deliver classified documents and important unclassified documents for the Gov't and industry.

I don't doubt they do a fine job. For now, it's easier to do it myself. These documents are cursed it seems, I'm not trusting anyone else with them. Sent the admin to the President's house to get his signature - he's leaving for vacation tonight. She got lost on her way to his house. The 5 hours is worth my piece of mind.

You remember being a kid and the cantaloupe you were eating were sooo good, you kept eating, even though your mom told you that you'd have a tummy ache?

I'm 47 and still don't listen.

I ate waaayy too much cantaloupe.

Awe, I'm so sorry. But you are right. This was planned as a fun time for her and it wouldn't be. You made the right choice for her, not for anyone else. (HUGS)
