I think the storms that woke Czech up yesterday, made it here this morning!

They have moved on, and now it's pretty nice out.

Have a great day, everyone!smile

Working from home today. Will swim later. It's going to be hot today, maybe 90. #2 has an event at school at lunchtime I will attend.

It's hotter than snot here, but my office is a chilly 63 degrees. I'm FREEZING. I'm all about cool rooms, but geeze...this is ridiculous.

G left at 4:00 this morning to go fishing. Hopefully, he catches dinner.

Trying to figure out what to get the kids for their birthdays. Party is Sunday. They need absolutely NOTHING. Other grandmother gets them anything they even mention. I think I am going to get Sweetness some earrings (she had her ears pierced last weekend) and a pearl to start a pearl necklace.

Bruiser is CRAZY about those $1 dinosaurs from dollar stores. I mean crazy about them. I think I may pick up a handful of them and just let him have at it...

Maybe add a carrying case or plastic volcano that the dinosaurs can attack?

Neither wet nor wild here.

Just windy.

Never got below 70 last night.

Waiting for the rain to make it pass FWM.

Senior awards practice tomorrow, actual awards Friday.

Mom got the bandage off yesterday, she has a scar about the size of my little finger. Is that normal?

Seriously, it's sticking up that far. Kind of hurts me to see it.

Other than that, it looks good.

She has to go back tomorrow because the technician wasn't there.

I swear, that office does things like that on purpose.

Another visit is another charge.

FWM, we still have rain this morning. Had thunder late last night as well.

Heading for a high of 67 degrees today. I dug the jeans back out of the storage box..

O4, love the idea of starting a pearl necklace!

Have places to be and things to do this afternoon.

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

I bought a chain and one pearl today.  Then at Christmases, birthdays, or on any another special events, I will buy pearls to add to the necklace.  I will give her the full pearl necklace at graduation or when she has senior pictures made (as an early graduation gift).  Someone on this board gave me the idea.  SORRY!  I can't remember who it was.  I bought from here...

I haven't clicked on that link, but I would recommend that the pearls are single knotted and that the pearls are re-strung every 20 years or so.

It feels good to be awake. I was lethargic all day yesterday after an intense day on Monday of cooking for our friend G's birthday. He got everything on his wish list food-wise. One thing he requested was a pizza cake. I'm proud to report it actually held together in spite of the dough being stubborn. I had to go to Sweet Tomatoes yesterday for some salad and healthy stuff after the junk food fest Monday. My tummy isn't used to such a heavy dose of junk food in one sitting.

Why, why, why do people do this.  Why do they keep rooms colder than they would in the winter?  Pick a perfect temperature and stick to it year round.  Coming in and out of that with the heat is going to make people sick!

Keeping it cooler is better, in my opinion.

I mean, you can always put another layer on.

But if it's too hot, people tend to start taking stuff off.

That might not be such a good idea.

Who said keep it too hot?  If you are coming in from 90 degree weather, 70 is going to feel perfectly cool.

I hate the "transitional" seasons sometimes.

If I have 3 different stores to go to, one is likely to have the heat on, the next A/C. Crazy.

And my first thought was "What a waste of electricity (cooling the office to 63)."

We keep our home around 77. I don't like freezing when I go into buildings. I am lucky I have an AC/Heating unit in my office that I can control myself. I keep it on the warm side.

70, after an hour, starts to become smothering.

We have 2 units in our house, two zones.

My zone is kept around 67, sometimes cooler. Year around. Warmer than that and we start coughing.

Mom keeps her end around 75. It gets so hot in there and if we, the kids or myself, are in there for even a little bit, we start coughing.

I love the summer heat, but I also love air conditioning.

Last summer, we kept our A/C set on 78 (we were both gone during the day). Between that & fans, we survived.

It's 76 now...I dread seeing our electric bill.

We have zoning, too, and I keep the upstairs warmer during the day because we're not up there, and switch it up at night while we sleep. (Cooler upstairs and warmer downstairs).

Yesterday was the first hot day here, in the 80s. Where could you find me? Shivering in my office with 2 sweaters and a blanket on. It's always so cold in this office! But, I have 2 woman on my end of the building going through the change, so they need it cooler. The rest of us just bundle up.

Only to those with hot flashes.  If you feel smothered at 70 degrees, you shouldn't be living in the south.

And it is a waste of energy to keep it so low.

The HVAC is all kids of messed up...
But they are doing serious construction starting next week (open concept :( ) and a new HVAC is part of the plan. They don't want to spend a lot of money fixing this one when we are getting a new one soon...

When I was having hot flashes, I would never have asked my co-workers to freeze.

A tall glass of ice water (lots of ice), and those gel patches you can put on the back of your neck...

They don't ask me, I just deal with it. I know there's nothing they can do about it. But I can put on a sweater or a blanket. For this very reason, I have a cute pink Minnie Mouse sweater and a super soft minions blanket I keep in my office.

I know one day it will be my turn. I can only hope my coworkers are as nice then.

I have a space heater on the days I need it. But I hate going to public places that are freezing all the time. I've turned and walked out of stores that were too cold. If I can't be comfortable in there, I don't want to be there.

 To whom?

70, after an hour, starts to become smothering.

Only to those with hot flashes.  If you feel smothered at 70 degrees, you shouldn't be living in the south.

And it is a waste of energy to keep it so low.

No. Hot flashes have nothing to do with it, unless my 22 year old daughter and both my sons are experiencing them as well.

I've never felt "smothered" at 70 degrees.

When my hot flashes were the worst, I worked in an old building with high ceilings, so a hard place to heat or cool.

We had a staff of 5 women. I can't imagine dictating the temperature in the building.

Oh Cheerios, I'm sorry.

Our roses have been blooming since Easter.

It was amazing, nothing Saturday, woke up Sunday to the biggest red and pink roses you've ever seen.

I am hoping to get them in the ground soon, but this snow really screwed things up. We shall see.
