Awwww, I just can't picture you, of all people, flouncing! IMO, you are far too strong and independent and confident for anything like that! I'm guessing that's why LL laughed.

That's no excuse to say the horrible things she said and then be allowed back after a simple banning of only two days! And then to laugh about it after she typed it, along with some others! Just horrible.

 She knew I was teasing.

Seriously, I don't think I have ever been that pissed off at anyone to flounce.

Now, on the other hand, I have pissed off enough people on other boards that they wish me dead. biggrin

Sometimes, I can not resist poking the bears. Especially on another ultra liberal board that shall remain nameless. The one where they would purposefully get pregnant just so they could abort. It's where the top crazies live. They are so EASY!

Poking them gives me great joy.

Yup, I can be evil that way. wink

My favorite ban story is still the one where Vette went to Invisipeeps and pissed them off. She was banned in less than an hour. That takes talent.

Nope. No alcohol. I actually did ready what I thought I read.

WYSIWYG is confused. WYSIWYG is not sure what any of this has to do with millennials in the workplace. WYSIWYG is going to go lay down now with a cold damp washcloth on his forehead.

I have kids born in 1987 1991 1993 1995 1997 and actually are all responsible contributing members of society. BUT that being said I have seen some of their acquaintances and ummmm yes they are very entitled.

but I see entitlement in ages across the *board* not this one, just in general life......

But there does seem to a lot of GIVE me NOW I deserve it.......

I've seen a lot of 19-22 year olds around here that do nothing. They just live off their parents but that's their fault for allowing it I guess.
I always wanted to work

My little brother is a true millennial. Kicked out of the military, had a kid he can't support, either can't or won't keep a job. Living off of our poor mother who can barely afford herself.

I love my little brother to death but he's kind of a loser. And he loves to brag to all of us siblings about how easy he has it.

My kids heard me say once, "that loser will probably live in his mother's basement when he's still in his 30's." Now when someone at school is mean to them, they tell me that kid will probably live in his parents' basement.....I must be careful what I say.

That's funny FNW!

I tell the kids that lay around that when they're old they won't have enough work credits to get an amount to live on from SS. They don't they no about that stuff. Heck I know 30 and 40 somethings that don't think about that
That's fine but don't come trying to mooch off me and mine when the time comes.

As stated, I am not technically a millennial, but I say I'm the stereotype of the generation - playing video games and eating chips in her parents basement.

Of course, the video games are squeezed in after the 11+ hour work days...so there's that difference.

That's the difference, DG. You work. My comment was geared towards the ones who don't work and don't do their own laundry or help out around the house.

Oh, I know. I take no offence to the living in the basement comments. I'm the first to make fun of myself.

I have a cousin that's in her early 40s. Lives with her parents. And hasn't held a full time job in over a decade. Those are the ones to poke at

Yes, I have that cousin, too. And she's a lawyer. I think she has a phobia of some sorts.

I have an old boyfriend who is in his 50's. He owns property all over California and a vacation home at the lake. He was a contractor, and traveled a lot. His mother is in her 90's. He still "lives" there when he's in town. He was one of the hardest working men I've known who earned enough to retire at age 38. He's remodeled her home, installed waterfalls, ponds, keeps his horse there, tends to the fruit groves and animals, etc. Basically he has taken care of his mother and her home and property. He's earned his keep and then some.

I think that that is different than 'living in parents basement', though. It sounds like he's there to be the caretaker, and not mooching!

No, he was never a moocher. Even in his 20's when we dated. He wasn't in town enough to warrant buying his own place, and his father was ill (eventually died) and the estate is so big...hard for her to take care of on her own but she was unwilling to give it up. He would even pick the avocados from the grove and sell crates of them to a couple Mexican restaurants. Those were the days...

That's awesome. If only the basement dwellers now were doing that. I can see having to go take care of my parents at some point because their big house isn't selling. Soon they won't be able to go up and down the stairs and the kitchen is on a different floor than their bedroom. I told them 20 years ago that they should move and they didn't want to listen. I will resent having to go take care of them because the house is in podunk nowhere and there will be nowhere for me to work.

So.....we are remodeling the bathroom to make it BEAUTIFUL, but practical. The walk in shower will have a bench.

We have no illusions that one day, I will probably have to take care of G.

I will do so gladly, but he wants to be set up for the worse...even though it will probably never happen...getting old SUCKS!

Well, not exactly.  You can get old AND Die or just die.  Death is a certainty.  Well, unless you believe in the Bible and some Christians who are alive at the time of the Rapture will actually not meet a physical death.  biggrin

As for basement living, I would not have a problem with any of my children living with me. As long as they were respectful, helped contribute to the good of the household financially and with household chores, labor. DH's friend has lived with his mom his entire life. That has worked well for them.

At the store I am amazed at how lazy some of the young people are. And how they can LOOK like they are working.....but are really not accomplishing anything.

Never been banned. But have taken many board breaks. I seem to be just unlikable but not bannable.

Sorry, I was thinking about my mother.

Every year, it was the same thing.

Me: "What do you want for your birthday?"

Her: "I'm not having a birthday."
