I swear, I woke up smelling bacon cooking, but no one is cooking bacon.

A neighbor stopped by, they hit a mountain lion on the main road, less than a quarter mile from here. Showed us pictures and the messed up bumper. 

Rained all night, again.

More rain but at least the weekend is supposed to be nice. We don't have any mountain lions around here that I know of but we have had reports of coyotes attacking pets recently. Have a great day all.

Wow! Looks like the long weekend is starting early!

Good job folks!

Need to finish cleaning the corners today.

DS and I meet at 8 in the morning tomorrow. Not sure I can handle being on the road by 5:30 tomorrow morning. Ugh. But it IS going to be a great weekend. Taking the 4 yr old DGS with me to pick up the 2 year old. They are best buds. :)

Need to bake a bunch of brownies yet. Baked the rhubarb/cherry/almond crunch last evening. Need to get some of it to my mom as well.

Saturday, Mom, a sister, my brother and I plan on spending the day together. Little man will be going with me.

Sunday is the big party.

Monday will be hangover Monday.. lol

 I don't know, if it wasn't dead when he took the picture, it soon was. 

The police had call the wildlife people, they were taking it off.

 

We hear one every now and then.

I was always afraid to walk the trails in Cali because of them. I was talking to an animal specialist at Nemacolin (they had one there that used to snarl at me when I'd walk past) and she said the number of attacks in Cali are not reported because it would cause panic.

 We have coyotes come through every 3-4 days.

We have bear, deer, all kinds of things come through.

We have bear and deer and so many damn turkeys you have to avoid them in the roadway. We don't have mountains here just lots of beaches so I don't think we have mountain lions. The turkeys love to hang out by the stream in my backyard. The cats in the neighborhood are totally fascinated by them.

Are the turkeys mean, TD? When I moved to WV my friend told me they had turkeys and to avoid them because they'll peck. My uncle had a turkey and they kept it in a cage and it was nasty.

We have black bear, deer, fox, and small critters. The bear is usually caught on camera in playgrounds, walking on city sidewalks, etc., and posted in the local Patch.

There is a rafter of turkeys that come through here, too.

40-50 of them.

The turkeys that hang out in my yard don't seem to be very aggressive but I leave them alone. They seem to like the wildflowers I planted for the bees. I have heard that they may be more aggressive in the spring because they're mating. It's so funny to watch them come through the back gate and make themselves at home. There's about a dozen of them including youngsters.

We have a bunch of turkey on our land. I love letting the dog out when they are gathered in the front yard. He runs right in the middle of them and they scatter quick. Only time I see them fly.

Note: it's my dad's lab that runs after the turkeys. Corgi doesn't run anywhere lol

Yeah, these will leave if you get too near.

They will puff up if a dog gets too close.

Just finished writing a short paper on Death with Dignity legislation and the reasons why it should be passed. I know I could be writing about "happier" subjects but I would rather research now for my future career.

Tomorrow is graduation for the group of kids who started at the school when we arrived here. They are our first classs that went all the way through with DH. It's going to be a day full of the happy-sads.
