Good morning, everyone! Hope the day finds you well and smiling. It is yet another gloomy, cloud-filled day. It rained late yesterday afternoon and continued off and on through the night.
Had bloodwork done yesterday. Got the results back already. Glucose is well within the ranges. Cholestoral is high; well above the "norm" but, to be fair, it hasn't changed in over 30 years. It is what it was the last time I had it checked. Not sure if that's good it stayed the same. I'm sure the doc is going to want to put me on some sort of meds for it but to be honest, not sure I'll do it. The side effects of most of the meds today seem far worse than what the meds are to "cure".
Not much going on for me today. Hoping to hear from the apt mgr so I can go see it today. Other than that, I'll be hanging at home, unless I can think of something more fun to do. hahaha
Have a great day!
FS, before you go on meds look up Red Rice Yeast. My dad is living proof that this natural remedy works, at least it did for him and his cholesterol levels.
Honey's mom, thanks for the suggestion. I've done some research on the red yeast rice and the active ingredient(s), or compounds known as monacolins, which block the production of cholesterol, are found in the drugs developed by big pharma. Monacolin K, has the same structure as the drugs lovastatin and mevinolin, which means the same side effects occur as with taking the pharma drugs. The difference is with supplements, exact amounts are not regulated as they are with manufactured drugs. I think I'll work on my diet before ingesting anything into my body.
