A Florida mom may be facing child abuse charges after she post a video that appears to show her allowing her toddler to be bitten by a snake.
Chartelle Geanette St. Laurent, 34, posted the footage on Facebook last Friday, which rapidly went viral.
The video showed St. Laurent's one-year-old daughter sitting in her highchair while her mother holds a box containing the grass snake out in front of her.
The youngster is seen reaching out towards the creature, which suddenly strikes, causing her to burst into tears. St Laurent is overheard laughing in the background while her toddler bawls.

St Laurent insists that she has no regrets for 'introducing' her girl to the snake, which she found in the driveway of her home near Sebring, Florida.
She said it was very important for her family to learn how to handle wildlife safely at their remote property.
'It had bitten me and my son and didn't leave a mark, several times. So, I thought it was a good opportunity to introduce her without actually getting hurt,' she told ABC Action News.
St. Laurent believes the incident has been blown out of all proportion.

St Laurent says she found the snake (pictured in her hand) in the driveway of her home near Sebring, Florida
'They just think that I hurt my child intentionally. The people that know me know that I would never hurt my children,' she said.
She added that the snake's teeth were too small to actually puncture the skin and that her daughter had been crying from shock, not pain.
The Florida mom, who has since deleted the footage, believes people are simply being too 'sensitive.'
The Highlands County Sheriff's Office has sent a probable cause affidavit for child cruelty to the state's attorney for review.
Non venomous snakes still have extremely dangerous bites. The bacteria in their mouth can do a lot of damage.
This mom is crazy.

Yes, it does give a good argument for sterilization, but that can be a really slippery slope.... Maybe make her let a snake bite her or go into a pen with a rabid Cujo. Just saying.
