My Friday off. Tons to do today. Dentist, pick up my new glasses, oil change, and them off to the Outlets to take DD clothes shopping.

Have fun, IKWTDS!

I couldn't agree more, SB!

Unfortunately, I have to work today and tomorrow. But, because the store hired a bunch of new people, my hours got cut by 10!!! I'm so sick of this crap! So, thankfully another store called me that I applied to and wants to set up an interview. It'll be full-time instead of part-time. Hopefully I'll get it. It's a little farther to travel but only by about four miles.

It's an overcast start to the day here. They're calling for rain. It feels very soupy, sticky, muggy, yucky. Everything in the house feels moist. Hate it!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Have fun IKWTDS! Sounds like a great way to spend your day!

SB, sorry your week sucked. :(

FS, hope you get the full time job! Good luck!

Wow, is it chilly here. Cloudy, windy and 58 degrees! It's going to be a very cool weekend. Brrr. Global warming my arse.

I have the morning free!! Then the kids get here for the rest of the day. The girls and I are planning a girls only weekend. Poor Papa, no fishing buddies for him this weekend.

Need to vacuum quick and that's about it.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Waiting for the appraiser from the County to get
here - my tax report for next year showed an
increase in property value of over $4K. I went
in, and started an inquiry. It seems that all of
a sudden, I have an extra barn on the property.
The appraiser did a satellite inspection, and
couldn't find the barn on my property, or on
any of my neighbors' property. So now I have
to wait for him to show up to search for it!

OMG - please sit on your porch with a glass of wine watching a county inspector search for a barn that doesn't exist!!

The sun is out! It's windy, too.

The gastrointerologist office called. I have an appointment in October.

Everyone enjoy your Friday, shopping, girls time, assessor inspection, and whatever else.

Poured early this morning and the sun is trying to come out now. I hope it's nice for tomorrow's pool party. I cleaned up the basement, JIC, and set up some game stations. Did some grocery shopping and planned to make cupcakes, JIC the small cakes I ordered are not enough for everyone. To make it easier on myself, I used box cake mix. It's been years since I've used a box mix. Anyway, 9 minutes into baking the oven beeped and smoke was billowing out the oven door. The tops of the cupcakes were starting to burn. The oven blew up. Toast. Done. Tasted one cupcake and it is actually fine. Throw on some homemade buttercream frosting later and they'll be fine. But now I need a new oven. I think now would be a good time to convert to gas! ehehe

The oven is only 7 years old. The first time it broke was when I used the self-cleaning function for the first and last time. Literally got so hot it melted the thermostat. It was just over a year old and the warranty was expired. Now this. We bought it at some high end appliance store. What a rip off. Home Depot, here I come.

Oh man, that stinks!

If you have a Lowes near-by, try shopping there. They have a good selection. And their extended warranties are not hellishly expensive.

Just an idea.wink

Lowe's is about 30 minutes away, but we might go there, too. I like it better than HD but just wish it were more convenient to get to.

Do yourself a favor and buy Bosch or some other reliable brand.

Seems everything is made by whirlpool. I replaced my whirlpool dishwasher (which was bought the same time as the oven) about a year or so ago with an LG. Our Lowe's only sells one Bosch and it's too wide for my space. It's a tight 30 inches, and the Bosch is 31.25 wide. I have heard good things about the Bosch dishwashers though.

I'll probably go with an LG since they have them that fit our space and we've had good luck with their W/D and dishwasher.

I am ******! I just opened a new checking account, put my paycheck in it and they won't give me my money until the 29th! Because my account is so new. I will have 200 available by Monday and the rest I have to wait.

*tears at hair*

Ouch!  You should have put in a small amount and put the rest in your old account until things get rolling!

I should have! But I didn't even know they would do that. That didn't happen to me when I opened an account with my credit union. It's totally my bad.

The last time a bank did that to me I waited until the money cleared, then went to the bank and pulled it all out, closed the account and told them why.

When you're at Lowe's, look at the Samsung
5 burner gas stove. I absolutely LOVE mine!
One small/simmer burner (back right), a high
BTU unit on the right front and back left, and
a regular burner left front; and the fifth burner
in the center is a long oval, that will heat a large
roasting pan or double flat griddle. Plus it has
its own double griddle with a well to accumulate
any fat (like from bacon or burgers). The knobs
are will positioned, and you can tell at a glance
if any burner is on.
The oven controls (electronic) are very easy to
use. If I wanted to set the oven for 361*, that
is what it would heat to. And both my oven
and my neighbor's (identical) heat exactly to
the temperature programmed.
Even if the electricity is off, you can still light the
burners with a match in the event of a power
outage.
The people who deliver for Lowe's are the best!
When my 12 year old oven died, DH and I went
to Lowe's, and they promised delivery the next
day, between 10 and 1. 10:15 they were ringing
the doorbell. They put down cardboard so our
flooring would not be marred, and carefully took
the old stove out. Lo and behold, there was a
mouse carcass under the old stove. One of the
delivery men took paper towels, and windex,
and took care of the critter. Above and beyond!
When they installed the jets for propane (rather
than natural gas), they put the old jets in a
container that they had brought, and put a
label and instructions on the container, in the
(unlikely) event we wanted to change from
propane back to natural gas.

Hope you have good luck with Lowe's!
