At an appearance in England on Thursday, actor Johnny Depp joked about assassinating President Trump.
Depp was at a drive-in movie theater in Glastonbury, where he introduced his 2004 film The Libertine, when he began talking about the president, according to The Guardian.
“I think he needs help and there are a lot of wonderful dark, dark places he could go,” Depp said.
Depp, noting his comments would “be in the press,” began discussing prior assassinations of presidents.
“When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?” he asked, referencing John Wilkes Booth assassinating President Abraham Lincoln in 1865.
“I want to clarify, I am not an actor. I lie for a living,” Depp said. “However, it has been a while and maybe it is time.”
Depp’s comments come a week after the politically-motivated shooting of Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise.
In recent weeks, a production of “Julius Caesar” in New York City’s “Shakespeare in the Park” sparked controversy when the play showed the Roman dictator, seemingly depicted as Trump, being brutally stabbed to death on stage.
Sponsors later pulled out of the event due to the “graphic” nature of the show.
Comedian Kathy Griffin also sparked controversy after a photo of her holding a bloodied Donald Trump mask was released to the public.

Johnny Depp is absolutely an American Citizen. He is a born and bred American. And in fact, he makes sure to come back enough to avoid being a permanent French resident - b/c then he'd have to pay French taxes, which for rich people is 75%.

And yet, there was very little to no outcry when Ted Nugent was repeatedly calling for Obama's death.
So I don't know about this Ted Nugent thing,but if true that he made violent acts or such he should have been prosecuted. You cannot deny the large number of people making accusations and threats against Trump, A lot more than against any other POTUS.

Actually, the Secret Service investigated Ted Nugent, and found that his statements were not actually threats. He used an offensive metaphor telling Obama to suck on his machine gun, but he didn't actually threaten his life or threaten to shoot him - it was along the lines of "suck my dick".
These people are actually saying he should be assassinated.

Of course, Ted Nugent is offensive most of the time - but I never heard about any of those incidents at the time. The media must not have done as good a job covering hateful Obama speech as they do hateful Trump speech.

But mainly, I do not get the argument that - "this person did it, too so it's ok." Because it's not ok. The crap Nugent said was terrible, too, even though it didn't rise to the level of a death threat.
And here's the thing - he WAS investigated by the secret service.
You want his actions denounced, please tell me where the media endorsed him like they did repeatedly by covering this crap for Democrat celebrities. The media didn't call out Kathy Griffin until the public did. The media HELPED her publicize that picture.
Don't argue against bad things by saying "this was bad, too." Yeah - that doesn't make this ok.
