A North Carolina priest may want to practice what he preaches.
William Rian Adams, 35, was arrested in connection with a road rage incident on Florida's Turnpike near Palm City Wednesday after pulling out a gun, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to an FHP report, Adams -- a priest at Calvary Episcopal Church in Fletcher, N.C. -- was driving a red Chevrolet Corvette when he "attempted to brake-check" another vehicle, a Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck, that was closely following his Corvette.
"As the victim attempted to pass the Corvette, the driver [Adams] pointed a semi-automatic hand gun at them," read the report.
The occupants of the pick-up truck were a man, 24, and a woman, 54, from St. Cloud, Florida.
The gun, a Glock 22, was taken to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office and submitted as evidence.
After the victim and Adams were interviewed by FHP officers, Adams was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
It is unclear if Adams has a lawyer.

What the hell? And why does a priest own a corvette? Here is a standard rule - never, ever, EVER, trust a rich preacher. Priests and preachers have a higher responsibility to be an example to the flock they tend, setting an example of Jesus' teachings. Of course they don't have to be perfect, but they shouldn't be flaunting frivolous materialism, either.

Doesn't say he owns the corvette. He may have been on vaca and sometimes people rent nicer vehicles than they own when on vaca, But, regardless, he shouldn't be a priest.

He should be avoiding even the appearance of impropriety.
And of course, it goes without saying he shouldn't be pointing guns at people.

You are cracking me up. He should be de-flocked.

not enough information to slam the guy--doesn't really matter what he was driving--how long had the truck been following him? was the truck trying to force him off the road? he obviously was scared/felt threatened--vettes are way low and considerably smaller than a truck, especially if the truck is lifted, has oversize tires, has all the cowboy replacement bumpers/grill guards--the priest was probably charged because he was honest about the incident--from the article, he was definitely provoked in some fashion

No where in the Bible does it say God's children are required to live in sqwaler.
There is nothing wrong with a preacher/priest having money.
Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
Personally, poor preachers/priest make me wonder why they are not living in God's blessings.
And preachers/priests are human just like everyone else. Yes, they should be the example, but let's not forget that Jesus had a moment of temple rage when he flipped tables and whipped people, or that God, Himself, is wrathfull.
The only thing that makes this story stand out from the other 20 incidents of road rage that day was that the police were called and the guy just happened to be a priest.

First, NO ONE said a preacher had to live in squalor. NO WHERE. However, the Bible says not to hoard riches, to give it to the poor. And a preacher is supposed to set the example for his flock. He is held to a higher stander. The Bible tells us many things, and it tells preachers specifically -
But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
Acts 5:1-2
But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property, and kept back some of the price for himself, with his wife's full knowledge, and bringing a portion of it, he laid it at the apostles' feet.
Amos 3:10

Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."

Proverbs 3:27

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in your power to do it.
James 5:1-3
Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries which are coming upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments have become moth-eaten. Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure!

Ya know, I have personally found that sometimes it is the car and not the person. No really, hear me out. In my little mini cooper, I am rather compliant, polite, and even downright courteous on the road letting people in to merge, or even lightly breaking so I can get in behind you. But get me in my hubbies dodge ram truck, and I just might mow you over if you do not let me in. I swear it is the seat or something. Why why why do I do that?
