There was a movie when I was a kid called "Night of the Comet" and Halley's comet was coming and it was a big deal and everyone made plans to be outside and watch, parties, etc. - just like this. Then, when the comet came by, everyone got instantly turned to dust. The only survivors were people who happened to be inside something metal at the time.
Yeah, Amazon sent us emails saying they are giving us our money back. I called all over Colorado looking for glasses and finally someone mentioned that the local museum had them for sale. So I took a long lunch and got 4 for the family. WHEW!
I know, you're right. But I think I'll make a couple this weekend with the boys and run over to their camp on Monday to have a look. (I just received an email they are keeping the kids inside but parents are welcome to come over and let them go watch).
I remember doing those pinhole thingies. I may have to do that myself come Monday. I ran my butt off all over two towns around here and no one has the dang glasses. Only one place actually admitted to having them at one point but sold out. WTH is wrong with this area? Just because we're not in the totality areas is no reason not to have gotten the glasses to see. UGH!
I can't find any boxes. If I don't go out and buy new shoes this weekend, I'll just take tin foil, poke a pinhole in it, hold it up, and get a piece of white board for it to shine on.
now they are saying traffic after the eclipse is going to be a 6 hour journey instead of 3 hours. Now we are not so sure we want to go to lake mcconaughy to see it. :(
What would you do if you had a chance to see it at 100%?

If you stay home, what is the viewing percentage of totality for you?
Here is a list of the eclipses to come, their paths and whether they are total or partial. I think we are gonna do it. Otherwise the next one crossing the states would be a significant travel time.
Our school had glasses, but they have been warned by the company that they bought them from that they might be a bad batch. So, now we have to send in cereal boxes for the kids to scramble and make them in the morning before the eclipse.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
It is hot here, I didn't see the eclipse because I kept the little man inside. I did look out the window to see how dark it was. Little man fell and bumped his head on the corner 😢 he got a little goose egg.

It got very dark here. I made the mistake of trying to rely on my blind selfies to capture it. It was much better viewing through the pinhole viewer, and I understand even better with the glasses. DH and some of his co-workers went outside and someone there had several pair they shared. DH said it was really cool, then a cloud covered it, and it started to pour rain. A friend of mine near my office said she took some pictures with her professional camera she will upload hopefully today. Her blind selfies looked much like mine.
I should post pictures in the break room of the eclipse. It was...there are no words to describe how amazing the experience was. Yup, worth a 10 hour drive one way to see it.
Well, we only drove 3 hours.

Faith isn't something that keeps bad things from happening. Faith is what helps us get through bad things when they do happen.
