A flock of flirting flamingos is pure, passionate, pink pandemonium-a frenetic flamingle-mangle-a discordant discotheque of delirious dancing, flamboyant feathers, and flamingo lingo.
We were a bit shy of 67% coverage. I went out to take a quick look. Didn't get dark here. At least, no darker than it does when a cloud passes over the sun.
That was awesome! I was really surprised how the eclipse did not show up on the camera. It didn't for me either, and I spent too much time clicking pictures when I should have been staring into my pinhole viewer until the sun started to come back. It was pretty dark, but not pitch black.
A solar filter for your camera would have shown the pics. If you're using your phone, just get some old negatives from film and use the blackest end to tape over the lens. That'll work.
Interesting! I'll have to remember that next time! We here on the East Coast will see another one in a few years.
If you do use it for the next one, make sure you use two layers of the black part of the negative. That will do it. One isn't enough. I'm somewhat on the east coast. The next one in 2024 will be a short drive for me to see the totality. I'm already looking forward to it. hahaha
