We're riding it out so far. We don't have many
trees (5, on 30 acres) so damage from falling
limbs is not a concern. Our flag is being whipped
by the wind - hope it doesn't get tattered too
badly.
lots of wind so far but not as much rain as we expected--more like a steady drizzle vs a downpour--have some huge trees on the place(60' tall or more)but so far no issues with any of them--power/services functioning normally--per the model on weather channel/noaa/etc. it's the DURATION of the rainfall that will create the flooding problems for us-- so far, though the lake is up significantly with a swifter than normal current, the roads are passable around us--we're on the high portion of a pennisula here so our biggest issue is getting cutoff if the lake rises too far above flood stage and crosses/floods over the land about a 1/2 mile behind us which slopes down gradually from where we are--we'll see

Looks like Houston is taking a beating now, according to the radar.
I also noticed St. Petersburg, FL. is getting some serious weather right now, too.

Our local Valero (gas station) just lost the
canopy over the gas pumps - completely
blocking one entrance from the highway.
My dumbass neighbor was out "sight seeing"
the area, and posted pictures on Instagram.
He had to cross a creek that is notorious for
flooding in 5 minutes or less. From just
higher than usual to over the bridge, sweep
away everything in its path, flooding. What
does he not understand about "sheltering in
place"?

This scenario is what I meant earlier by you having common sense. I know you will be fine but others rather watch train wrecks happen and not get out of the way. KWIM?
