Lindley ~
You know that the definition of "sushi" is NOT
raw fish, right?

This may help you. Sushi is defined as flavored
rice, which may have pieces of raw/cooked seafood
or egg accompanying it. Uncooked fish, arranged
in a beautiful presentation, is called sashimi, and
has rice as a side.

If you are taken to a Japanese restaurant, you
can order "no raw fish" sushi, and you will get
a beautiful presentation of cooked shrimp, cooked
egg custard, and lots of other items, all cooked.

Hope this helps you to enjoy sushi!!!

Thank you momala, my family  loves sushi and it looks so beautiful  and my family  really  enjoys it but I can never get past the idea of raw fish. I  may check it out  the next time we go where there is sushi.

Lindley - try ordering the eel. It is cooked in a sweet soy sauce and is considered the gateway sushi.

Also - I really love a crunch roll. No raw fish.

Peas suck, unless they have are in a good minestrone so you can't taste the grossness or feel the texture.

I will eat sushi and sashimi, but prefer veggie rolls (sushi). Or eel, which is cooked.

I don't care for yogurt and oysters.

Coconut. I really really don’t like coconut.
I don’t like yogurt either. Even the super sweetened kind still tastes like bad milk to me. Yuck

I only liked carrots cooked if they are julienne and lightly cooked, served with a little butter.

I don't do sushi. It's weird in my mouth. I've tried it a few times, just not my thing.

I like carrots and celery cooked.

It is amazing how many vegetables I like when they are NOT mush.

Salt & pepper were the only seasonings my grandmother knew.  My mother was not much better.  We had about 6 jars of seasonings.  I have at least 60, probably more.

 Truth.

It's amazing the difference just salt and pepper makes.

The only thing I boil now is potatoes for mashing.

I like vegetables a little more now. Peas are better fresh or frozen then can, hated asparagus till I tried them fresh not out of a can, and veggies are so much better roasted sprinkled with olive oil, sea salt, fresh ground pepper and fresh garlic.

Vegetable that is horrible no matter what is okra..

Which is great cause my kids like them.

So I can get them cookies and I don't gain an ounce!

I don't like canned veggies. So gross.

There's very little I don't like. A lot of what I don't like, I'll eat anyway if it's served to me.

Other stuff I don't like: oreos, caramel, marshmallow, white chocolate, coconut, those fake cheese slices in the individual wrappers, crab, and tomatoes.

Stuff I like but can't stand the texture: shrimp and scallops. I like the flavor but the texture gags me.

There are things I won't knowingly eat. Cat and dog meat being two of those things.

I don't like coconut or okra. Most other things I'll try. I haven't had brains or tongue, the only organ meat I've had is liver, and chicken gizzards/hearts/liver. I like those.

A lot of canned veggies have a weird texture.

White chocolate is the fat by-product they skim off chocolate as it is cooking. Think about soups or stews when they cool, and the layer of fat hardens on the top. That is what white "chocolate" is. Pure fat.
