Good morning! We are finally getting some fall weather here. I'm so tired of feeling hot and summer clothes, I'm sure I'll change my mind once winter gets here.

It was a very dreary start to the day here this morning. I hope it doesn't rain. The town's Halloween parade is tonight and it goes right past my apartment. I'll probably sit out on the porch to watch. Maybe not. We shall see. The sky, when I got up, looked like Van Gogh's Starry Night painting but during the day obviously. There were swirls and swirls of clouds of varying shades of grays. Temps are a bit chilly at 49*. I don't think we'll reach 60* for the day. And just as quickly as I was typing this, the clouds disappeared and blue sky prevails.

I have to go sign the lease / paperwork for the new apartment today. If I get the keys today, I'll load up the Jeep with some stuff and take it back up. I have until 4:00 today to get things done before the streets in town are blocked off for the parade and I won't be able to get parked until after 9:00 tonight. I spoke with nephew last night and he jumped at the opportunity to help. He's not sure if he'll be able to get any more able bodies but there were a couple of people where I work at the PT job who offered to help. One is a really big strappin' 16 year old and really nice kid. Another said she and her boyfriend would help. So, we shall see how this goes. The biggest problem will be getting the sofa out the window since it won't fit through any of the doors here. Funny that the matching over-sized chair fits through but not the sofa. Hmm I need to explore this better to see if there is a way before renting more scaffolding to go through the window.

Not much else going on for me today. Thankfully I don't have to work tonight. Just thinking I might just go through all the stuff in the bedroom and hallway today and get rid of this crap I'm not using so instead of making a run with boxes to the new place, I may just make a load to take to the Women in Crisis Shelter or Salvation Army. That way, it's done and out of my way. Yeah, that sounds like a plan.

Hope ya'll have a fantastic day!

Argan oil my frizzy peeps! And Kerastase smoothing products!

Cool here but supposed to get around 70 I think. It's pretty out, that's about all I know from my office window.

It was 37 at 7:30 this morning, just 54 now. I won't lie, it's a bit nipply.

Is the doorway tall enough to slide the sofa through vertically? If so, you could angle the sofa around the doorway.

Hey, Chef! Well, that's what I'm thinking. Even if I have to ask the neighbor to open her door. The landing between apartments isn't more than three feet by three feet. I'm trying to remember if the kids tried to do what you said. I keep thinking if the sofa is vertical and they lead through the door with the back first then swirl it around, it should work but I'll have to do some measuring. This is what I get for moving into a building built in the late 1800s and never updated or modernized. hahaha I really do not want to have to go through renting scaffolding, etc. to get this out. UGH!

I'm so excited! I got the keys to the new apartment today! I went in and just hung out there for a few minutes, walking around inside and checking things out. It was so much warmer in there and brighter as it gets more sunlight. It's perfect!!! I can't wait to get there.

Since I got back, I had lunch and am heading into the bedroom to clean things out to take to Women in Crisis or Salvation Army. I am stoked to get this done. Tomorrow I plan to start taking some things up and unpacking so I can reuse the box(es) for more things. This is happening!!! Woohoo! Finally!

Are there legs on the sofa?  Can you take them off?

Yep did that when trying to move it in here. They're just donut type feet on it and screw on and off easily. The problem is the doors here. They're not standard widths as we know today, since it was built in the late 1800s.

8 more saucers and 8 butter plates to go and I'll have all the China and serving dishes washed and ready for the holidays.

If we use them.

If not, the China cabinet will be nice and sparkly.

Where is that purge thread?
