Ugh... been awake since 3. My pain level is a solid 6+. Trying to tough it out with Tylenol.

Good morning, everyone! Winter has arrived! It's 32* with a real feel of 20*. Yep, that's 20 degrees. The wind is whipping with gusts of up to 40mph. Leaves are blowing all over the place. A high of 35* (real feel 23*) is expected for the day. I have seen conflicting reports about this upcoming winter. Some say it'll be worse than we've become used to with lots and lots of snow. Others say it'll be warmer. I guess time will tell and we'll just have to peek out the window every day to find out for ourselves.
This is going to be a long day. I had . I was tossing and turning and tossing and turning, in and out of bed until after 3:00 this morning. I just couldn't turn off my brain. Anything and everything was running through it. I finally fell asleep and the paper delivery person for the apartment downstairs slammed the front door at 6:30 and woke me. I tried to sleep more but just couldn't. So, I'm up and at'em, sucking on my cuppa and trying to muster up the energy to pack up the jeep with the first load of the day. Of course, all my winter clothing is at the new apartment so hopefully I'll stay warm just by moving around until I can get up there and grab a sweater or something warm.
I have to work tonight 6 to 10 but have decided to call out since tomorrow's the big day and I want to get a bit more organized before the movers show up. I have a sinking feeling that for some reason they're not going to show and I'll be stranded with no way to move my furniture. God, I hope I'm wrong. lol I won't breathe easily until it's over.
So, how's your day shaping up? Hope it's better than mine!
Cold here. I have the day off. Met with #2's teacher for parent/teacher conference. He's doing well. I think I'll run to Container Store and buy some shoe boxes. I'm on a mission to organize my closet. If I felt better, I'd finish up with the fireplace, but that will wait until Tuesday.
I had a chiro apt at 7:00 this morning. That should be illegal. No one needs to be anywhere at 7:00.
I think, THINK, that ALL of the kids will be able to come for Thanksgiving. With the addition of the new baby, this will be the first time everyone will be together. Praying it all works out...

Lily - hope the Tylenol works
SB - Good Morning!
IKWTDS - it may be too late now, but bake
that bacon! You don't have to watch it.
FS & FNW - stay warm
04 - hurrah for family gatherings!
Morning 6 after fall back, and the dog actually let me sleep until 5:45 instead of waking me at 5:15. Does someone have the doggy translation for explaining DST?

I use my broiler pan for baking bacon. Cleans up pretty easily.
Good afternoon! It's been a busy day so far, and looks like it will stay that way.
Deer season starts tomorrow. I will be out early watching for idiots, who do not have permission to be on our land.
Started the fifth quilt yesterday.
I should have copied Momala's post. Hope those who feel poorly are better, those who are cold, get warm, those who fry bacon can come to my house, and those who are planning family gatherings receive abundant blessings. Oh, and I hope FS has a successful move!
DH and I will be attending the schools Veteran's Day program this afternoon. The grand's all wanted Papa there since he is a veteran. They sure are excited for todays program.
Have a great day and weekend!

I've heard though never tried it, if you can't sleep because your mind is overwhelmed or overworked get out of bed and write down a list of your things you gotta do. It suppose to trick your mind into relaxing so you can go to sleep. I don't know if it works since I've never tried it
I will lay on my back and tense up and then release all the muscles in my body, starting with my feet and working my way up to my eyes. It usually does the trick.
That's a great idea, lindley! Where were you last night when I needed that advice! hahahaha
OK so one heavy load taken up and unpacked. Going to have some pizza for dinner, load up the Jeep and take another load up tonight. I'm playing hooky from work!
Friend will be here at 8 tomorrow morning to help and the movers will be here tomorrow by 9. The one guy said he'll go with me to pick up the truck and we'll get started! This place is looking pretty empty with all the pics off the walls and 90% of the curtains down. Still have 1/2 the pantry to pack up and get moved, 1/2 a closet with lots of stuff still up on the shelf to get done and then just odds and ends of things laying around that I'm still using and the furniture.
Tomorrow's the day! Even with temps as cold as they are today (low 20s with the wind) that new apartment was nice and toasty from getting the sunlight. I had the baseboards set at 62*. I couldn't believe it. I think I'm really gonna love it there.

Sorry you are still in pain, Lily. Mine was at a 6 to 7 most of last week. I actually had to take a real pain pill to sleep. It is awful when it gets that bad. Hope you find relief.
FS, YAY for a new WARM home! When I have trouble falling asleep (not pain related), I work on a plot for a book I have in mind to write. See, the plot must be boring because I am asleep in minutes. Works every time. ;)
DH and I enjoyed a wonderful Veteran's Day program at the local school. So proud of the grand's and the school administration for putting together a fine show. DH received recognition for his service. Proud wife moment. Tears flowed freely.
It has been a good day. :)

I love the way schools honor our Veterans. My father participated when the boys were in kindergarten and my tears flowed as well. It is very moving. They had a couple of parents Skyped from Afghanistan, too. I learned more about my father's service in that 20 minutes of sharing he did in their classroom than in my entire life. It's not something he would ever talk about.
Finally broke down and went for a hair cut.
From 8-10" long to 2"!!! My beautician is so
good that she cut some areas shorter than
others, because that area grows so quickly.
In a month, all will be even, then two months
out that area will be a little longer - time for
another haircut!

I'm fine with roasting in the summer. I'm not an AC kinda gal. Warmer is always better than colder in my book. Having a bright, sunny apartment if far more important to me than a dark, dingy one like I have now!
And yes, it's 1:10 a.m. and I am awake yet again! I fell asleep around 9:30 and here I am. UGH! Hope I can get a couple more hours of sleep before daybreak. lol
I'm still awake at 1:30am. I'm hurting, exhausted, and ready to cry.

Well lily, I didn't actually get back off to sleep until after 3:00 and here I am again, up at 6:00. It's going to be a long day.
I sure hope you're pain is subsiding and you're getting a good night's sleep. I'm sorry you're hurting. I'll cry with you. Not sure it'll help either of us but a good cry once in awhile is a good thing. Hugs my friend.
