I'm enjoying the calm before the storm. Today, tomorrow, and Sunday are going to be super busy.
Today is all the shopping for DS' party and, hopefully, finishing up Christmas shopping. I have 7 stores I need to visit for DS' party. Possibly 8 if I can't find an egg and soy free dessert (one of the kids is allergic to egg and soy). I was hoping to have my truck back but the radiator my FIL received was defective. The company is sending another one free of charge. FIL wasn't pleased but what ya gonna do. So, my dad's Jeep is going to be packed to the gills and beyond. I made a list of every item I need for each menu item. DH said his head hurt just looking at the list.
Tomorrow is going to be a heavy day of prep. A lot of the stuff I can make in advance so I will. I'll make the rest of it Sunday morning. I made a list of what all I can do Saturday and what must be done Sunday. I'm going to make my cheesy biscuits on Saturday. They'll be fine sitting overnight, if they turn out. If they don't turn out, into the trash they go. The recipe is somewhere in storage so I'm relying on my memory to know the ingredients. I know I emailed the recipe to MIL (she couldn't access the email she had at the time) and that I sent it to some people on FB (can't remember who) nor can I find the link I used as a jumping off point when I created the recipe. But, I'm fairly certain on the amounts so we'll see. I either have the amounts correct or I don't. I know for sure I have all the ingredients correct.
Sunday is party day. DS is very much looking forward to it. Love that kid. DH is also looking forward to it. He's a big kid at heart and is giddy over having a party. Methinks next year we'll go back to having the party be just for DS. Planning a joint party was fun but exhausting. But, the 4nado and 34nado will have fun so it's worth it.
I went to #1's Christmas party. It was fun. I'm exhausted now. They test for their brown striped belts tonight, too. They want me there to watch. And I have another cold.

I’ve been in PowerPoint hell today. Multiple presentations to reformat. Which made me miss lunch. BUT while playing elf and delivering my boss’ Christmas gifts to people, I walked into a pot luck one department was having. They of course offered me food so lunch was saved, if a little late.
SB, so sorry and hoping for good results for kitty.
Chef, it will be an awesome party!
DG, potluck luck! Yay for you!
IKWTDS, ahh.... I'm still laughing. ;)
Trudy, I love Panara!
FNW, awesome! Enjoy watching tonight.
HI Lindley and Momala!
FWM and Vette, my Christmas cards are not going to get done this year, so good for you two! Hope everyone forgives me, sigh.
Picked up DGS this morning midway between DS's and our home. He threw me under the bus as soon as he saw Aunt J. She took him to pick up her kids, or his best cousin's ever as they say.
DH is doing very well for being only 5 days out of major surgery. I'm simply amazed at how well he is doing. PT started yesterday and he tolerated it very well. He also stopped taking the powerful pain meds. He says he has less pain now then before the surgery. Poor guy suffered a long time.
Plan on relaxing tonight, enjoying a glass of spiced eggnog and reading a new book.
Have a great weekend all. :)

Faith isn't something that keeps bad things from happening. Faith is what helps us get through bad things when they do happen.
Kitty is home. He got a shot and some anti nausea for the vomiting and some prednisone for the mass under his neck. We are hoping it will shrink some. We don't want to get surgery due to his age and health. I just hope he makes it through the holidays and us leaving town next month.

Aww,, who is taking care of kitty when you are gone?

Neighbor. Except for sugar kitty. We will board him since he needs insulin 2 X a day.
DD had a hair app't earlier tonight. She begged me to take her to Kohl's after since she has some events to dress up for. Went to Kohl's and she decided that a dress or skirt was too much for her (she has been wearing t shirts, sweat shirts, skinny jeans for about 2 years now) Taking the leap was too much for her. but she chose a really pretty top, very feminine. I am so excited. And she went to the dance tonight wearing a nice top and NOT skinny jeans. She looked pretty. She wants to save the top we bought tonight for a play she attending next week.

Sweet! Now you will be buying tons of new girlie clothes!

Yep! So happy. She wore girlie clothes in the ages I dressed her, last few years was about hiding her body with sweatshirts. I get that. Now she wants to look pretty. She really is pretty. I need to work on her getting rid of the chunky eye glass frames next!

Clothes shopping is fun! So is new glasses frames! Or contacts perhaps? She's old enough for that responsibility.
She is old enough for the contacts thing if she wants that. Glasses are still all the rage right now. For her Birthday she goes shopping for clothes. I get her nothing as a surprise. Bday is in 2 months.
