Tonight is our church's children's Christmas program and it is our littlest DGS first program. We are so excited for him. Unfortunately, neither his mom or dad can make it here in time to watch him sing. Oldest DD has to work, so she will miss her kids as well. It happens.
I plan on taking lots of pictures to send to them.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend and that all those Christmas preparations are close to being done for you.

Faith isn't something that keeps bad things from happening. Faith is what helps us get through bad things when they do happen.
I'm staying home from church because of my cold. DH took the boys and will deliver them to Sunday School following Mass. Other than that, I'm taking it easy and trying to stay away from the boys so they don't catch it. I'd hate for them to be sick at Christmas.
I am hanging out at Office Depot, waiting for my print job to be done. We discovered at 5:15 on Friday that both our printers are acting up. So I made the hour drive to get the presentations for a super important meeting Monday printed. I’ll finish my Christmas shopping while I’m in the city.
Dad’s birthday went well. We had dinner at the club and his brother and SIL surprised him by showing up. Then had about 15 people out to the house. He was surprised and enjoyed it.
Hoping to finish my wrapping when I get home later.

Oh
The boy is at work.
I don't know his schedule even though he tells me it all the time. I think I stopped listening to him. LOL

Waiting on the rain, my niece and her dog, my brother and his 2 dogs, and my nephew. They all arrive at various times between today and Wednesday. I swear, I'm saving everything I can so next year I can be anywhere but here for Christmas.
The Christmas program for us is Sunday week.
Let the games begin!

I have cards to finish, will do tonight and drop off at the post office on my way to work. Tonight I'm going to order flowers or a plant for my dad's wife. I heard she has a new man but dad would want us to keep in touch.

That is very thoughtful SB.

I remember the Christmas Children's Programs, but I think ours were at night. Do they still give out those little boxes of nuts and hard candy to each child. One of my first Christmas Programs, sang "Oh, Little Town of Bethlehem" as a solo, standing on a box because I was only 5. Never will forget that. One of the members of the congregation was a grocer and he was so impressed he gave my family a fruit cake. (Please remember this was in 1944 and a gift like that was a pretty big deal.) Well, enough of my remembrances.
Hope all the Children's Christmas programs go well and are thoroughly enjoyed by both participants and watchers...

OMG Karl such a nice history throw back. Yeah today kids can't be given food, too many food allergies and such. But I remember participating in shows in elementary school and receiving that small box too! It was very special.

Our gives out fruit bags to the kids, and each of the older members get a big fruit basket.
Which I am apparently part of the older group now.

There's been so much going on, I forgot all about them.

Jojo sang in church today. She has to do an encore next week and she is not quite so thrilled about that!
Aww... and she has a whole week to think about it.
