Snow Day Friday!

So the school district changed the day from early release to a total snow day.  Storm moved in earlier than expected.

Let's have a snow day together!  I have plenty of hot cocoa and little marshmallows!

Wow. That's good news, actually. Early release days are a waste, anyway. I'm glad those kids will get an extra day - ours have been out since last Friday. I'm excited that b/c of Irma, all of our early release days have been made into full days.

Kids here had to go a few Saturdays to make up for Irma.
THANK GOODNESS IT'S FRIDAY! It has been a hellacious week! One more week of "I want my surgery done before my new deductible starts".
I hope everyone has a great day!

It’s seriously 55 degrees here. Taking corgi to get his nails trimmed then an oil change. THEN home to pick up Mom. First lunch then off to the spa. She still has no idea what we’re doing 😀

Raining like a mofo here. I mean serious flood warnings. And it's not supposed to stop until tomorrow night...

DS took DD and two friends to the candy place in Gloucester. They left at 8 so they could be there when the store opened. Snow is picking up. And I sit here and worry. I didn't go because I had a few things to do this morning.

My dd who is also  surgical nurse said her hospital has quite a few patients scheduled for elective surgeries this weekend before Christmas too! She is so glad she is here on vacation.

The cold front came through and brought rain.

I thought I was done shopping, but Wayne asked me to pick up a bottle for Mr. Jim, down the street. He doesn't have a dog of his own, but he keeps treats in his garage, and gives all the neighborhood dogs a treat whenever they walk by. Jupiter loves him. So, every Christmas she gets him a present.biggrin

Also, I've got to get wrapping.

Have a great day, everyone!smile

Mr. Jim and his wife, Miss Marlene, are the sweetest people.

They get such a charge out of Jupiter. She loves them a lot.

So do we.smile

Hope ya'll get let out of work when you want. Sounds like we're all pretty ready for the holiday to get here already. I just want it over with now. lol

It's a dreary start to the day here. No rain or snow yet, which is good I think cuz I have to be outside to rearrange the small shed I have for storage so I can get more in it. hahahaha

I do have to work tonight so I'm hoping it doesn't turn to ice or snow before I get home.

Have a great day!

The calm before the storm. Finishing up Christmas shopping today and tomorrow. Have to take DS so he can pick out presents for people. He also wants to spend his birthday money.

I made gift bags out of wrapping paper for stockings yesterday. The family liked the wrapping paper gift bags last year so figured I'd make some for stockings for this year. Spent last night wrapping the stuff for DS' stocking and stuffed it so I can see what fits and what needs to go under the tree. Will have to have someone occupy him Christmas Eve night so I can empty it and give it to him to hang for Santa.

Back home from out morning errands. Mom and I will be leaving soon. In my down time, I'm googling how to make meatballs. Mom wants meatballs for family Christmas. Sister is gluten-free, so I'm going to make them instead of buying them. Between sister's gluten issue and dad's heart problems, I will be using very little prepared items. I plan to spend tomorrow cooking to get ready. Making the meatballs, broth, turkey (to shred for a dip), and tomato sauce. Sounds like a lot of work, but I'm so looking forward to my day of cooking

Oh! I forgot the cream of mushroom soup, but that gets made Sunday for the green bean casserole

Heard from the kids! They are stopping for lunch then will be home. DD has an ortho app't at 12:30 so they better hurry up. Oh and my snow blower is due to be dropped off today. Problem is I am not allowed to go into my garage, the side where I keep the snow blower. There is something big under a blue tarp in there.

Hahaha Good luck with the wrapping, FWM. I've never done it with six cats but I have done it with a rambunctious puppy a time or two.

I’m done wrapping and the girls wrote Santa letters. Funny thing is dd isn’t doing Santa Claus and told them that even though other kids believed in Santa he isn’t real and not to share that information. They both decided he is real and talk about him and refuses to believe he isn’t real

Yep, kids want to believe so they play imaginary games and such.

Hey ya'll.

Chic fil a sounds yummy.

Ya'll enjoy the snow.

So glad I don't have to deal with schools anymore.

We have a LOT of wind. Cold, cold wind.

It's dull and dreary, I have all the Christmas lights on trying to brighten things up.

Happy Friday!

Do you happen to have an orange or a
tangerine around the house? If so, peel
it, and put the peels around your wrapping
station - the kitties will abandon you in a
heartbeat.

Good idea, Momala!

Lucky for me, my kitties like to take afternoon naps.

I walked away for a bit, and now they are sleeping peacefully.

I need to hurry up and finish, before my little helpers wake up!

 How cute is THAT!!!!!

We wrapped and stuffed gift bags for 2 hours. I said, and we didn't, go overboard this year. But it sure does LOOK like it!

I finished my wrapping.

(Thank you, goofy cats, for giving me a couple of hours of peace!)wink

Now, I'm freaking out.

The pressure is on....................!

Wayne picked up our Standing Rib Roast, for Christmas Day, on his way home from work.

He spent $182.29  For the Rib Roast!

Holy Cow!!!!!!!! (Pun intended!)wink

(If I mess this up, I will probably cry.)cry

It has always come out great, in the past. I guess I'm just shocked at the price, this year. And, it's making me nervous.

Sigh.

(It will be fine. I'm worrying for nothing. It will be yummy. If it's not, I might just lay down and die.)biggrin

Dinner at 5! The roast is 11.40 pounds. (It's a beautiful beast!)biggrin

Appetizers around 3:30.

And, I'm making a couple of pounds of  Shrimp Scampi, to go with it. (I always make a seafood option, since Jessi is not much of a beef eater.)

I can feed a crowd!smile

All the grandkids and their parents and hubby and me went to a aquarium today. It was so much fun and when the little ones started walking hand in hand with each other it just melted Mt heart. Afterwards we went to a Japanese steak house. It was so much fun.
