So, here we are the day after. Seems we all survived. Remind me again why we decorate when in a week or two of having done so, we have to undo it all, box it up and store it for another year?

It's a beautiful sunny day here compared to yesterday when the wind never stopped howling. I have to work tonight. Hopefully it'll go quickly.

Hiddyho ho neighbors!

Everyone survived the holiday with all their digits.

Waiting for mom to get back so we can go get things for a party for daddy that he has adamantly denied wanting. Mom insists. So here we go.

That's why I decorate as close to Thanksgiving as possible.  More time to enjoy it!

Today is just flying by! My co-worker I've been working on a project with showed up two hours late. I was bummed all morning doing it on my own and then here I see him walking in! Yay! Now he's doing the dirty work to make up for it :p

Just salted the driveway. Man that snow really stuck to it! Taking DD to the Guitar Center so she can pick out a new strap for her santa gift (I got her an electric acoustic guitar) and some picks. Need to look at amps for her bday.

Took DH to PT this morning. He is progressing very well, but not well enough to loss the sling. He was disappointed. lol

It is COLD! -3 with a wind. Brrrr.

Today is our relaxing day. We both need to recover from a long weekend away from home.

The sewing room is beckoning me, but I do not have the energy to start or finish what projects I do have to work on for now.

I should post a picture of all the quilts I made for the grand's for Christmas. I finished the last one last Wednesday morning. That was cutting it a bit to close for comfort. Panic mode was setting in... ;)

I tried that and just couldn't get motivated to do it. As it is, I only put up about half of what I usually do. The thought of taking it all down, bubble wrapping it and boxing it is like "gawd, do I have to". lol I typically do it New Years Day. If I don't find the energy / ambition, it could be already up for next year! hahaha

You two better just sit and relax today or a few days! There is nothing that can't wait. I'm glad hubbs is doing okay but sorry he couldn't get rid of the sling just yet.

Thank you, my dear, thank you. Those kids are awful sweet and well worth all the work. Their quilts are made with "grandma love", and are covered with quilted hearts to remind them of all the love I have for them.

When we went over to DD's this morning, all the kids were lined up together, watching a movie, covered by their quilts. Made my heart sing. smile

My grandma crocheted.  When you reached a certain age (12 or 13, I don't remember) she made you an Afghan for Christmas. Well, one of my cousins and I were born the same year, so she had 2 to do that year.  Mine wasn't quite done, she wrapped it up half done with the skein of yarn in there too. I had to leave it with her and got it a few weeks later.

I can't believe I'm going to have a 4 year old tomorrow. This time 4 years ago, I was in labor. Today would've been DS' birthday but I ended up having a C-section so he was born at 0032 on the 27th. Went into labor Christmas evening. I love how excited DS is for his birthday. Can't believe today is the last day of the threenager. On to the 4nado!

So glad your grandmother was able to make something special for you. A precious memory for you to cherish. Do you still have the afghan?

My mother gave me the crocheted bedspread her mother had made for HER when she was 16 years old. It is priceless to me now. It is 66 years old now and is still beautiful. smile

And catch his plague? Nooooooo ...

Nah. Just kidding. I love on him anyway. I have a good immune system. He's currently fighting off a cold. Took him to urgent care last night because his fever was 102.4 and he said his chest hurt when he coughed. Thought he might have bronchitis. But nope. Just a cold. I thought he might want to stay home and rest tomorrow but he said he still wants to go to Olive Garden for his birthday so we shall do that.

I do. She also made me a matching pillow cover, since I had to wait for mine. She also made Corgi a blankie. Its actually a funny story how that came about: her neighbor passed away.  The widower gave my grandma his late wife's yarn.  In the basket was a blanket she had started. My grandma decided it was "corgi's colors" so finished it in a mini size and gave it to him. Apparently Corgi's colors are pale yellow, cream and sea foam green. That was 14+ years ago, and I'm looking at it right now. He still lays on it.

Panic mode was setting in... ;)

So glad your grandmother was able to make something special for you. A precious memory for you to cherish. Do you still have the afghan?

My mother gave me the crocheted bedspread her mother had made for HER when she was 16 years old. It is priceless to me now. It is 66 years old now and is still beautiful. smile

Yay, for keeping treasures! Priceless. smile

Do you see a theme?

Faith isn't something that keeps bad things from happening. Faith is what helps us get through bad things when they do happen.
