Strange Cable TV Problem

This is an odd one.

The cable quit working in our family room TV late last night.

The TV in the master bedroom, is fine.

I tried rebooting the box.

Nothing.

I tried having Charter refresh the box.

Nothing.

I called, and went through about 20 minutes of instructions from the robot.

Nothing.

Robot gave me to a real live tech! I went through about 30 minutes of trying this and that with her.

(She was really nice.) Still, no joy.

She asked me what kind of TV I had. Samsung, says me. She said I was the 9th person with a Samsung that she had tried to help today. She thinks Samsung sent out an update last night, that goofed up a bunch of TV's.

At any rate, a tech is coming tonight, between 8 and 9pm, to see if he can figure out what the heck is wrong.

(I hope I can stay awake that long.) LOL!

Our Internet went out for about 4 hours yesterday, seems all charter Internet was out in this area yesterday. I just hope the bill is adjusted.

It seems like everytime there is an update to something, there are a lot of problems for the users. Not only cable, but net providers, programs, etc. Wish they would stop trying to "improve" everything and just let what they have work.

We had Charter, they sucked. Now a local company bought them out, they suck worse.

I have found that updates tend to do more harm than good. I never update if I have any choice until it becomes an absolute necessity.

I wish Samsung had given me a choice.

(I suspect this is a Samsung screw up, not Charter, for once.)

The Visio up in the master, is fine.

Since Samsung is a popular brand of television, I just thought I'd let you guys know. Just in case someone else has a Samsung TV gone wonky.

I will let you guys know how it all works out! wink

 Most shows can be streamed via a computer. Which is why I have 6.5 hours left of cable.  biggrin

I don't watch many shows.

I need sports channels.

Tennis Channel, would be number one.

All the ESPN channels, would be, second.

Golf channel, and, I have to have HGTV.

I don't think I can get these, without cable.cry

Glad it's fixed.

I like having cable, but I wish you could pick the channels you want and only pay for those.

Like I watch the same 10 channels everyweek. I don't need the other blue million channels.

I agree, lily. If I could pick and choose at a decent price, I'd probably hook up to cable again. It's just not worth it for me at this point.
