She got in a bad car accident last night. Over-corrected and rolled her car. The cops found the car totaled with her purse and phone in it and she was nowhere to be found. She got knocked out and when she came to in the car, she struggled to get out of the car and wandered off all disoriented. Some lady found her today about noon sleeping in her breezeway covered up in the coats she had out there.
You just can't imagine the horrors that were going through my head.

I can imagine! Glad she was found relatively safe and sound.

Has she been checked out for a
possible concussion? I'm so happy
to see that she was not hurt in a
major way, such as broken bones.
The hours of sleep she got after
the accident were probably the best
thing that could have happened to
her. She got rest, with no questions
as to what happened, so her memory
about what happened will probably
be much clearer, when she had to
answer questions.
I told her to go to the hospital but she said she was "fine". Luckily, no one was hurt except her head bump.
The police gave her a ticket for "failing to report an accident" rather than leaving the scene, which is better, but I told her to go fight that ticket. Of course, a note from the doctor saying she had a concussion would likely help that, but 19 year olds can't be told anything.

She's very fortunate that when she wandered off that she didn't wind up in the road or anything like that. It sounds very foolish that she won't go see the doctor. She could have had a neurological event that CAUSED her to over correct her car. Until she gets checked out, she really doesn't know. But, if she's an adult, I guess she can do what she chooses but that does not sound wise.
