I'm doing laundry and trying to get things straightened up.
Not crazy about the time change, never feels like I have enough time.

I across the board dislike road trips. And unexpected one are even worse. I have things to do that did not include 2+ hours in the car. But I’m too nice to hurt my dad’s feelings when he said “you’re coming, right?”
I made the mistake of telling my mother we were donating the boys' hotwheels and tracks. Now she's not speaking to me. (She gave them to the boys several years ago and they never really got into them.) But holy moly she got them these HUGE loop da loop things that don't break down and store.

Yep. Been through that. Learned to keep my mouth shut about the disposition about toys and such.

Statute of limitations on toys? She wants me to keep them for MY grandchildren.
I grew up on road trips, I didn't like them then and I don't like them now. Doesn't help that I get awful motion sickness.
We have a little break in the weather today with a coveted shaft of sunlight so off to wash the cars we go!
Then it's time for more ps4. I swear this thing will be the death of me, but at least I seem to be getting my money's worth. Oh, and IKWTD, I did a ton of laundry today also.

Or was it a bad five minutes that you milked all day?

Sweetie, you get car sickness from the way you drive. I merely was scared to death. Just saying. But would do it all over again as long as we are both wearing out hooker boots.

Had a most gratifying Second Sunday at Church today. Baked 18 chicken thighs al la Rice Crispy Chicken, because I knew that the member who ALWAYS brings in Chicken Express (store bought) would be away.
By the time I went in to the kitchen to get a dessert, ALL of my chicken was gone. Even the pan had been washed and dried.
The dietician who is working with me to reduce any carbs really loved this recipe !
Fresh chicken thighs - usually about .99 per pound. Rice Crispies salt pepper cayenne
Take about 2C rice crispies, 1t salt, 1t pepper, 1t cayenne. Whirl in a food processor til finely ground. Shake thighs in ground cereal, and put on a grid that has been sprayed with Pam, over a rimmed sheet.
Bake 60-75 minutes, until well done, 165*. Let stand 30-45 minutes on grid, until well cooled.
Travels well, especially if put in an aluminum pan.

Urg. FIL does this. Save the toys! Save all the toys! DS might want them! DS' kids might want them! FIL believes in keeping e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. A scrap of paper DH doodled on when he was 2? Keep it! Except food. The second the date passes, FIL will throw it out. He even throws out food that's perfectly good but it violated one of his bajillion rules for food safety. But let's keep every scrap of paper your kids doodled on!
DS has his own interests. If he takes a shine to something DH or I are interested in, the whatever-it-is can be bought from Walmart or Amazon. I'm not going to save every single toy just because DS, his kids, his grandkids, etc. might want them. We bagged up some toys that were either broken or missing key parts and puzzles that were missing pieces a couple months ago. I don't know if the bag made it to the trash. FIL noticed it and said he'd take care of it. I wouldn't be surprised if those toys are securely stored in his garage.
We will drop the toys off at the preschool they used to attend. They will go there for a few days for summer camp and get to re-visit them there. LOL My mother thinks that's horribly selfish of me to not think of my future grandchildren. My boys weren't interested and she thinks their children will be? I'm having storage shelving added to my basement to accommodate the toys and crap we're holding onto. We have storage issues and need to purge. But God forbid I get rid of 6 year old toys the boys never gave a crap about.
Good one, momala! But I know what she will say....her parents couldn't afford toys and that is why she feels so strongly about buying toys and passing them down as she had nothing to pass down to us. Yeah, ok.
