I applied for the license. So that's a start. Lets remember my family is huge. And I couldn't leave anyone out. All my friends? Ugh, they'll want their parents invited, too. Just thinking about the numbers scares me. And I want NO gifts. We all know GG's shopping habits! LOL

This is what I would do.  Get married at the JP. Have a cook out once it warms up a bit.  Invite everyone, cater sides and have someone cook dogs and burgers, or ribs and chicken, then surprise them by telling them it's actually your wedding reception.   I've been to a handful of these and everyone loves it.

I agree with 04 that way you can celebrate your way and truthfully as I told my daughter almost two years ago when she got married and now two of my sons who are getting married this summer and fall, the wedding is but one day and while important in itself, the MARRIAGE is the reason and the thing to put all their effort into. then whatever decisions they make/made for their weddings is up to them. I think a personal ceremony with a JP (they do weddings in parks and other places too if you do not want the actual courthouse) our CH has a little gazebo outside behind it, but anyway whatever your both decide is best for you.

Then a get together with friends and family to celebrate your beautiful future

I AM SO so happy for you, I always knew your special person was out there just waiting to grab you close and never let go.

We had a JP at the country club with our immediate family. Reception the next day in our home.
