I admire how hard people work to accomplish what they do. Especially individual competitions. It shows such dedication. Training hours every day. I am not a sporty person myself but I do get into fitness a little. DD and I are starting to participate in some 5k races. I will never be the fastest, but I will always finish.
Team sports are great too. Everyone has a job and has to work together to be successful. I don't watch much other than football. I still respect all sports though.
I played soccer. Got recruited for college. Stopped playing. Hate to say it but the lesbians made it real hard. Didn't like me scoring away.
I was a figure skater. Stopped that around age 13.
My brothers were huge sport guys. They taught this leftie to golf. They crack up when I tee off. Everyone groans. Then *wham* Shuts everyone up real fast.
I don't have an athletic bone in my body. I was good at dodge ball and greek dodge growing up. But that was about it. I can play tennis, but I tell DH that if he wants me to return the ball, he'd better hit it to me. I don't want to over exert myself. LOL
I have engaged in exercise routines over the years. In my 20's, I did free weights and brisk walking in mountainous areas. I was in great shape. In my 30's, I tried kickboxing for a year or so, and pilates at home. In my 40's, I walked or used the treadmill. In my 50's, I'll let you know if I start a routine.
Sports aren't really important to me, although I do like to play a little basketball with the boys for a few minutes every now and then. DH is a golfer, and I like to threaten to go with him. You know, just to keep him on his toes.
I like some sports some times. But, really, I don't care one way or another.
I enjoyed weightlifting in high school. I played racket ball regularly for years.
I was always active with walking, swimming, and lots of physical labor.
But organized sports is just not important to me.
Don't get me wrong, I can respect those who play sport.

I feel it's important to keep your body moving, but most people I see who are serious about working out are usually suffering from injuries from said working out. It's hazardous to your health.
I'm the LEAST athletic person I know, but I LOVE me some sports. Especially college football. Fall Saturdays, don't even ask me to go somewhere. The first Saturday in Sept is my FAVORITE day of the year!
I also love Curling.
I like watching golf, Nascar, college basketball, a bit of pro-football, any and all Olympic sports.
So, yeah, I'm gonna say sports are a big part of my life.

To me, there is a real joy and exuberance in sports. The joy of discipline, learning to do something physically well, being "in the zone" during a game, the camraderie and fun. The magic of individuals coming together as a Team. It is a very magical thing. I have always been athletic and really enjoyed the fun and competition and just the joy of playing and movement. And, there are great life lessons. Discipline, hard work, effort, team work, taking direction from authority, being a student of the game, grit, perserverence and playing through pain. It is learning to take your lumps. To appreciate a team that is better or more skilled, but yet you don't give up. You play hard till the buzzer and you work to become better. Learning to win well and to appreciate when you finally do win and all the years of effort from coaches, players, parents, etc.
I love watching my children grow in the sport, to understand the game and to watch them on the floor react and play with understanding and skill. Seeing my daugther post up and then move on the defense with her Up and Under or spin and step back or pop a left handed jump hook based on how she is being defended is really a joy to see. Watching my son "thread the needle" with an amazing pass from point to low post and you wonder how he saw that player flash open and then got the ball there. Watching my oldest son pop off the offensive linebacker and have the QB running for his life before he sacked him! lol
I love watching the Olympians and you realize the YEARS of their life they have invested in their craft. And, their finely honed and powerful bodies are poetry in motion.
Going to the Womens Final 4 and the exuberance of these young women after a long, hard season and making it to the top was pure joy.
I mean, not everyone loves it, that's fine. But, it for many people, students, kids, etc it does deeply impact their lives.
I'm not into sports to much, but my husband is. I went to one professional football game, it was the Rams when they were still in Los Angeles before they moved to Anaheim and it was so very boring. I tried to look like I was having fun for my dates sake. I do enjoy a baseball game in person. My two teams are the Cardinals and Anaheim angels. I also enjoy watching hockey in person.

This is more about the crowd and fun than the game, though. I like it, too!

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
I like going to baseball games, but I don't really follow any on tv.

I like high school and college football.
Same for basketball. But I LOVE the
Harlem Globetrotters
Yes, I know, they are for entertainment
only, but man are they funny! And sooo
accomplished!
Sports in my life? Not important at all.
I might watch a game if I have no other choice.
I don’t mind attending live events, but I’m not super into it.
I appreciate that the athletes have worked hard to be where they are, but still I really don’t care. Sorry, not sorry.
I enjoy watching the grandkids baseball games and the local high school teams play football, volleyball and basketball. Always have enjoyed watching. Participating, not so much.
Also love going to a Nebraska football game. This year should be a lot more fun with a new coach.
Now tailgating, that's fun!
