I didn't get home from my travels until 11:30 p.m. So trying to decompress. I do need to go to bed but too wound up. Dog was happy to see me, sticking right by my side.
Today was somewhat of a test for DD. Exdh dropped her off at school, she took the bus home and the plan was for her to stay here by herself. She went to dinner at a friend/neighbors of mine took their dog and ours for a walk afterwards. She did great. I texted her to let her know my flight was late. She was in bed but awake when I got home, but is fast asleep now.
Tomorrow a ton of work to do.
I ROCKED my presentation. A few of the reps from other countries asked for my contact info because they want my help. With the success of my committee success and my nice visit with Dad it was a great 5 days.d
GOOD MORNING!

How old is DD, IKWTDS? When my parents were in California, the boys came home and settled in by themselves. But they were only home alone for about an hour, maybe a bit longer, before I got home. Really, they could do this every day, but my parents aren't ready to "retire" from their job as after school daycare for the boys quite just yet.
Good morning! So glad that you had a positive trip ikwtd, sounds like your girl is very responsible young lady. I'm sure your parents look forward to their afternoon with the boys fnw.
First morning babysitting new grandson, so far all he is doing is sleeping.

13 is good. My friend's DIL let their son (age 9) stay home alone all day for a few days when he had the flu. I think that's a little young but each child is different I suppose.

Yeah she did good. I don't worry during the day, it's the evening hours that I worry about.

I worried more about the kids being alone before 4pm.
Most burglaries happen between 9 and 12 am.
During hours when adults are supposed to be at work.

Contrary to popular belief, most burglaries do not occur at night at all. Instead, 65% of burglaries occur between 6am and 6pm. Most burglars do not want to risk encountering someone so they will try your home when you're most likely to be at work. The most common hours for a burglary to occur are between 10am-3pm.Jul 11, 2014

It's true, they do. Our house was broken into before noon. I never thought about that though, when leaving the boys home alone. We do have an alarm system, so they won't be walking in on anyone most likely.
