My boss is stuck in Haiti being shaken down for money to get to the airport. He, his wife, and daughter were there on a mission trip when the riots started. They almost made it to the airport, but had to turn back for safety issues. We do not know when they will be able to leave, and I'm sure they are scared to death.

As of this minute, not really. They still cannot get to the airport, they are HOPING to be able to fly out tomorrow or Wednesday, but that's dependent on the roadblocks.
Also found out that these "roadblocks" are locals just trying to capitalize on the uprising. The police are too busy with the riots to do anything with the few roadblocks, so the locals are taking advantage of the situation. Or trying to at least...

The stories coming out are awful. People are taking advantage of the fact the police are busy with the riotors so unable to help elsewhere so these people were blocking the roads ro the airport and robbing tourists and such.
