My work day has been started and finished already. Was up at 4 this morning and am home now waiting on the AC repair man to come by and fix it. It's about freakin time!

DH took me out for breakfast at one
of our favorite places. Breakfast for
two, under $10.00 including two
sodas. (Sodas, because the local
water tastes terrible.)

FS, sorry it has taken more than a
day to fix your a/c.

Momala, the AC has been out all summer. I called property manager two months ago. And called again two weeks ago. UGH!

Breakfast for two under $10? Wow! Awesome deal!

FS, I saw window a/c units at my local walmart for under $150. Might be worth the investment.

We're not permitted to have them here, unfortunately.

 What about the indoor units?

It wouldn't cool the whole apartment, but you could cool the room you are in.

Yep, I was looking into those on Amazon. I considered it but don't have a lot of floor room. It would have to be a table top unit or something like that. But, the good news is, the AC repairman got here around 2:00 and just left. I now have AC, at least for the foreseeable future. There is a slight leak in it but he said it's very minute and could take a year before it needs fixing again.

ETA:  The repair company is not permitted to fix or replace them without written confirmation from the Property Manager. UGH!

My SIL mentioned a unit that can be rolled around, moved from room to room apparently.

We have a/c, but I've considered getting a small one for my bedroom.

I tend to be hot all the time.

In the winter I feel like I'm always smothering with the heat on.

Plus it's great white noise.

They are called portable AC.  They work good, not quite as good as window AC but so easy to roll around and put away at the end of the season.

Yeah, those ones on rollers are pretty nice. We'll see how this one works now that they were here. It's one of those newer kind of ones that's in the wall and drains down pipes on the outside of the building. It provides AC and heat. It's working pretty well right now. I have it set at 76 / 78 and it felt cool. I just went out to run to the store and as soon as I opened the front door, I was about knocked over with the heat and humidity. So glad this is fixed.

Lily, there is electric heat here so each room has it's own control thermostat. I don't even turn the ones in the bedrooms on. I only use the ones in the living room and bathroom (at 68*) and the place stays nice. But, I always crack a window about an inch in my bedroom because I just cannot stand it if it's warmer than 64 / 66.

I have the ductless too!  That's what I had installed two years ago.  I like the functionality of that type over Forced air.  The ductless are much more efficient.

Yes, they're said to be more efficient. This one will run more than normal, or it should run. The location is not ideal. It's at it's farthest point from the rest of the apartment in the dining room. They had to put it there because it was the only place they could run the drain system outside the building and not have to fish through walls and floors. lol
